Oh you silly Reds. Making me forget you're an Ohio team. My roommates are from Detroit and I live in NYC though, so...I guess it'd be fun to party with other people if they win? Sigh.
Cry more about it. Seriously though Bud Selig is such a douche that it will happen because the Yankees want it.
Extended replay is already on the way, it was part of last year's collective bargaining agreement. It's just a matter of how much and how it will be implemented. And before you think this is some sort of Yankee-centered conspiracy (and I'm no Yankee fan), they've been the beneficiaries of far more terrible calls than not. To wit: This ball was called foul. This was called a tag out. And the less said about Jeffrey Maier the better. Amazing.
At least most umps in the MLB appear more able to admit when they made a bad call *eyes NFL replacement refs critically*
24 years ago tonight... one of my dear friends parents & two family friends were in attendance for this game. I've always be so, so grateful that this legendary home run happened on my 2nd birthday.
http://mlb.mlb.com/news/article.jsp?ymd=20121017&content_id=39886588&vkey=news_mlb&c_id=mlb Game 4 of the ALCS is likely to be pushed back until tomorrow at 4:00pm EST, which really stinks, because I'll be at work, and thus will miss the entire game. (I don't know if I could have DVR discipline) http://espn.go.com/new-york/mlb/sto...on-new-york-yankees-miami-marlins-source-says Because their inaugural season in the new ballpark went so well, why not?!
San Francisco's pitching has been something else in games 5 & 6 (Barry Zito going 7+ innings in game 5?! Really?), setting up tomorrow's game 7. I would hate to see St. Louis complete their collapse, because Detroit's layoff from their ALCS sweep has me worried (regardless really of who wins tomorrow, but obviously things would be worse for me if the Giants were to advance).
They seem the same length to me. And, I no doubt jinxed the Cardinals in the 3rd: after a post work shower, I put the game literally has Scuatro lead off the 3rd with a hit... the Giants then proceeded to score 5 times in the inning, giving them their 7-0 lead now in the 4th.
I can't cheer for the Giants, go Tigers! Cant wait to see Leyland smoke a pack a game and die of a heart attack in game 6.
I'm torn. I hate SanFran for their post season dominance over Cincy in both football and baseball. However, the Tigers are from that state up north.
I realize the natural inclination to against a Michigan based team, but that San Francisco edge against Cincinnati sports teams in the playoffs ought to override that. Don't give in!
