Sad thing is that he didn't even get the base because he "swung". This right here is why I'm not a fan of the "swinging" rule on hit-by-pitch.

Now, on to Stanton, this is definitely not the kind of injury that you come back from easily. Hell, I don't know if Jason Heyward has ever been the same since he got plunked. He still wears the face guard on his helmet.

So, after a humiliating 9-0 loss to the despicable Giants last night...

the Bums get revenge via their largest margin of victory over the Giants since the '50's.

    **** yeah.

It's Kershaw, so the final game will probably be 1-0 or something.

So, the Bums entered San Francisco in 1st place on Friday, and leave today still in 1st place. Good. :D

http://hardballtalk.nbcsports.com/2014/09/14/adrian-gonzalez-thinks-clayton-kershaw-is-the-nl-mvp/]Adrian[/url] Gonzalez thinks Kershaw is the MVP, thinks anyone is an "idiot" if they believe otherwise

Needless to say, I disagree. :p And, for once a comment in an internet article makes sense: Why not specifically state that the MVP goes to a position player, the Cy Young for a starting pitcher, and a Rivera awards for the best reliever? I think that makes a lot of sense.

Kershaw IS the MVP this season in the NL and anyone who thinks differently IS an idiot!

Because it's coming from your brother does not inherently make it wrong!

Without meaning to jinx things, IF the Bums can at least win the N.L. pennant, I can better handle Kershaw winning the MVP.

    Just basic info from B-R.

    Wins Above Replacement--all s c a p y
    1. Kershaw (LAD) 7.7
    2. Heyward (ATL) 6.5
    3. Stanton (MIA) 6.4

    Kershaw FIP: 1.88.
    Next closest: 2.61.
    League Average: 3.72

    Kershaw ERA+: 213
    Next: 168
    Average: 101

By any measure, Kershaw is twice as good as any average pitcher in the NL and worth more wins to his team, pitching every five days, than an everyday position player.

I, obviously, can't deny the stats... I'm just inherently opposed to a pitcher winning the MVP; we'll have to agree to disagree here.

Came across that via a Dodger-blogger's Twitter profile... oh, the irony there. I should send that in an e-mail to the Angels front office.

So, the Dodgers television blackout IS OVER! :D

    Well, sort-of:

Sure, it's not a long term deal yet, and it's kind of annoying that this wasn't done earlier this season, but **** it, it's 6-games of Vin Scully AND the possibility -as the 1st of the 3 games are against San Francisco- of being able to watch the Bums clinch the division at home, against the Giants. What's not to like about that?

Why were the games blacked out? I thought the Dodgers signed something like a $2 billion TV deal a while ago, which is why they started spending like crazy.
Just curious as to the reasons. I know I've seen you post that the games have been blacked out, but just curious as to what the hold up as been.

Time Warner couldn't reach agreements for DirectTV or other cable operators to carry the channel. So they were being broadcast but nobody could watch them.

Orioles and Nationals clinch their divisions tonight.
Sox of course get shut out by the Pirates, but hey, just a few more games to go and the pain will be over lol!

I'd be more impressed if that were the weeping angels, and not the California Anaheim Greater Western USA Angels of Los Angeles and Earth.
