Arena The Major League Baseball Thread

Got glimpses of the game on TV* thanks to StrikeZone, but they were behind the radio telecast by at least 2-pitches each time, so that got annoying fast. The Mets should consider going back (or at least use them as an official alternate) to those '80-era home uni's... those big, bright blue & orange stripes on each side are appealing.




Not to worried about Urias' start, really. Obviously would have preferred a smoother outing, but the Mets are good after all.




*Sunday Night Baseball gives me a break from blackout madness! Kershaw vs. Colon!

 

Really couldn't ask for a more theatrical game-tying double than that.

that would have been a beautiful ball park, to bad it never happened, plus they already have Hotels, Restaurants, Bars and Night Clubs in Jack London Square I think The A's owners are nuts personally

 

the mets were actually wearing their old uniforms that look cool

 

my mom Is a Mets Fan since the 1960's and she hates there 80's uniforms, Luckily I am a Yankees fan and I loved the Yankees Matte Finish Helmets Last night, really shnazzy !!!

Seriously. That was beyond awful. Only slightly better because I wasn't watching and had a brief panic attack because I thought Syndergaard was hurt. But that was a garbage call.

I wouldn't sing the praises of a player whose blatantly illegal slide severely injured another player. But, as they say, your mileage may vary.

Just because that slide was indefensible doesn't mean I can't appreciate the theater of a grand slam, especially in a game that I get to watch on television. No **** that Utley is a villainous prick.

 

Syndergaard definitely ought to have remained in the game. Of course, as great as he is, the Dodgers do hit better on the road, so perhaps instead of the large lead they currently have, maybe they have a small one.

do the Marlins ever open there roof? what a disgrace if they wanted a fixed roof they should have built a fixed roof, I prefer the Rays stadium to the Marlins and the Rays Stadium is brighter!


at least at Tropicana Field they have the Rays touch tank !

I haven't been watching much of the ESPN Sunday Night games this year, but holy crap is it awful. I really wish the national broadcasts, and this goes for Fox and TBS, too, would just call the game and not analyze every pitch and every swing to death.

there's this guy the Dodgers have had for 65 years and he's pretty good and everyone says the way he broadcasts is the best, but everyone decided to do the opposite anyway.

That's something I've not been able to understand. Everyone praises Scully, yet hardly anyone takes after him. Far from being imitated by every new announcer, he doesn't seem to be imitated by anyone at all.

 

Remember when the plan going into this season was for Conforto to start against lefties? I've never seen a manager outright lie as much as Collins. I get sitting him against the occasional lefty, like a Kershaw just to get Lagares in there, but when they face three in four games, he has to play at least two.

Though that's not their biggest problem right now. Someone should go back in time to this winter and tell Sandy he's going to want to re-sign Kelly Johnson and Juan Uribe. I can't watch Campbell play another game.
