Well the word "NOON" fits the bill, but that's really just one word and not a message...

It is a message, not just one word. And you can look at it in a mirror and still read it correctly. Noon, the n's would appear backwards in a mirror.

    Um...MOOM?

Geez. I've never heard this one before and I don't think I could even take a stab at it.

Ok... if I understand you correctly, which I am sure I don't, then the message is not only palandromic, but when reflected either vertically or horizontally, still reads the same.

There's only a small selection of symetrical letters as it is..

    A H I M O T U V W X Y

but if it can be read in a mirror, etc.. that gives us

    H I O X

So unless the message is HO HO IXI OH OH, then I'm pretty much stumped.

You can add A to that list, if it's a capital letter. I've been working on that principle as well, but I'm stumped.

The answer to the puzzle is:

    ...---... otherwise known as S.O.S.

The morse code form shown above is an internationally accepted message. It can be spelt the same forwards, backwards, upside down, or reversed.

Due to my yr12 formal taking place, I will give you another puzzle (this one will be the last for this challenge). The first questionairre will be sent to all contestants this coming Friday at 7:30pm. You will have until then for this puzzle.

"Two coins are placed onto a table, next to each other. One is a 50c peice, the other is a $2 coin. By only touching the 50c coin ONCE and not touching the $2 at all, the $2 coin can be placedc on top of the 50c.

What ONE movement of the 50c do you make?"

The answer is the morse code, not the 'SOS'.

Does it have to be one motion or could you hold the 50c coin for a while, as long as you didnt let go?

Hold the 50c piece on the edge of the table and slowly tip table on an incline so the 2 dollar slides down atop the 50c piece.

But as usual, this OBVIOUS answer will be not allowed because it's too smart.

The answer is actually a very obvious one. I'm suprised you haven't said it yet Protege.

Ok, the extended time limit is up. Seeing as you guys got the first three, I'll count it as being a win.

The answer to the puzzle is "place the 50c underneath the table. That way the 50c is under the $2 and you only touched the 50c once".

The first questionairre will be sent to all participants this evening.

In a rather brash, and probably stupid move, I am going to contest your final answer!!

By only touching the 50c coin ONCE and not touching the $2 at all, the $2 coin can be placedc on top of the 50c.

By only touching the 50c coin ONCE I can probably slid it off the table pretty good. But unless I have very good reflexes, I don't think I'm going to be able to keep my finger on it as it makes it's way to the floor, let alone be able to push it back so it sits under the $2... which, as it it happens, would still mean that the $2 was not infact placed on top of the 50c coin.

I demand extra points for your mis-wording of the question.

(OK Team, back me up here, we've got him on the ropes!)

Edit: Score 1 for my keen grasp of English, and correct use of grammer, but -1 for my improper use of mark up codes.

Syrix, you do have a point there! The $2 would be on top of a piece of wood - not the 50c coin.

Alright, I DID say "the $2 coin can be placedc on top of the 50c."

I should have said "above" not "on top".

So I'll give that puzzle to you aswell, so you still scored that challenge as a sucess.

We were probably being a bit picky anyway, Milney. When do we get our questionaires?
