R2 was very heroic. Han Solo was heroic, but kind of foolish sometimes. He was a great character though, don't get me wrong.

    1) Anakin--broke free of the dark side, made the ultimate sacrifice to save his son.

    2) Obi-Wan--coincidentally, also made the ultimate sacrifice to help Anakin's son.

    3) Luke--didn't give up on Anakin despite all Vader had done; resisted the temptation of the dark side.

    4) Chewie--the epitome of loyalty.

"1) Anakin--broke free of the dark side, made the ultimate sacrifice to save his son."

Yeah, but were talking about the MOST heroic SW character. Do you think that that one act of heroism negates all the bad that he did too? Enough to make him the #1 heroic character???

Yeah, r5-d4 is really the one who made the ultimate sacrifice!

Obi-Wan knew he was going to live on when he chose to martyr himself. R5 didnt have that luxury...

    brave little guy...

The most heroic are the ones who die for the cause they believe in or sacrifice themselves for another.

    Yoda406, good job! :D

One of the most heroic characters was Boba Fett, the fearless bounty hunter. He wasn't exactly a bad guy. Think about it. He was going after a criminal, just as he was being paid to do. Had a price been placed on Jabba's head, he would have killed Jabba, making him a "hero" in the eyes of the ones Jabba oppressed...

Boba Fett is one of the most heroic in the Saga.

I think Obi-Wan and Luke are the 2 most heroic characters.

I would say R2-D2 but I don't think he is as heroic as them because a majority of the time he is heroic it is because he is told to do so or programmed to do so. The only times he really acts on his own are when he repairs the hyperdrive in ESB and when he turns off the droid factory machine in AOTC. There may be 1 or 2 others but most of the time he is told or programmed what to do so I don't think he is all that heroic.

R5 meerly blew a motivator that can be replaced. Obi-wan was gonna loose anyway, and it isn't like death was the end, he new it would make him more powerfull. Your all wrong. It's

Nien Nunb, he laughfs in the face of danger. Lando tells him the death star shields are still up as the whole emperial fleet closes in behind and he just laughfs, No fear what so ever.

Han Solo, if wasn't for him Luke would of been killed along with the Rebellion.

Princess Leia Organa, for her courage and leadership. She went through hell and never gave up on the rebellion.

Padme Amidala, proving Sidious wrong and reuniting the Gungans with the Naboo to fight for the surivial of their planet.

    That's my Top 3

No list would be complete without Paploo, the Ewok who took off on the speeder-bike, causing Scout Troopers to take off after him. And then the way he pulls a Tarzan on them...wow.

Tied for 1st...Luke, Han and Obi-Wan
Luke: He went to save his friends on Bespin, faced Vader, lost his hand, almost losing his life. Saved Han from Jabba, gave himself up to protect the mission on Endor, facing Vader and the Emperor and the Dark Side. Willing to sacrifice himself for his father...

Han: Saved Luke so Luke could destroy DS1, Saved (along w/Luke) Leia from death on DS1, Saved Luke again on Hoth. Fearless pilot, led the mission on Endor.

Obi-Wan: Bravely fought Maul after Qui Gon's death. Took risks to find out about Padme's would be assassin (flew out the window, fought Jango on Kamino). Bravely went to Geonosis to investigate. Who knows what in ep. III. Sacrificed himself to Vader so Luke could get free.

2nd: R2(of course), Leia, Padme and Anakin
