People, please. Let's keep religion out of the banners and just stick Chewie up there. Everyone likes Chewie! Plus, no one has ever committed murder in the name of Chewie...

    Arbor Day! ARBOR DAY!

:( I hope and hope this will be the year....

I like your banner too, Gabe. Hope you don't mind that I've used it. :D

Okay, the precedent has been set. Come May 4th I'll expect to see a National Candied Orange Peel Day banner.

We could put Chewie up for the Lumpy Rug Day... ;)

Great banner though. Simple, but great...

Okay, the precedent has been set

It doesn't set a precedent anymore than having a Christmas banner or a St Patricks Day banner does. I don't have a problem with banners being used to celebrate noteable dates from other faiths but just because you put up a banner for Easter there is no reason why you have to do it for other religious events.

I have to disagree with you there. The banners for the holidays on the JC are Christian holidays. I have yet to see one banner honoring a Jewish holiday.

The Christmas banner isn;t really a christmas one, because it has such things as a menhora in it. So, maybe you should pay more attention.

I want a kwanzaa banner. Until '99 we would only have Lando to stick in there, now we have like 5 brothers.

Id you want a passover banner, maybe you could make one? Afterall, banners can't be posted unless they are available.

One final thing, is that Bucky O'Hare? If so, he isn't a rabbit and has nothing to do with easter bunnies. If that's the case, I'm taking it to comms!

I think you already did :p

But, I'm pretty sure that's Jax, an old accomplich of Han Solo. But he's not EU, not at all. If you look closely you'll see him in the SE of ANH. He's in the back in the cantina. Honest.

Jaxxon is alright. Sure he represents the commercialization of Christian holidays, but the concept is cute nevertheless. It's a secular way to celebrate Easter, just like the St. Patrick's day banner never showed any crosses or St. Patrick himself.

I suppose an Eu character is okay. Easter is an EU sort of thing to most of teh world. Does he have a clever race name ala calamarians? Something like Roobit Stoo?

I cant make a Passover banner, I dont have the software. The 'holiday' banner that we had didnt even have a menorah in it. I went looking.

Do you have windows? There's a programme on there called 'Paint'. You can use that to make banners. And can you link me to the holiday banner you checked out?

Why is this the most important holiday?

I don't understand what about chocolate bunnies and Cadbury eggs make it so special?

Channukah isnt a religous holiday. Its a festival celebrating the oil lasting 8 days. Jesus is a religious symbol. A menora is also a symbol of the state of Israel.

Are you jewish? I thought Hannukah wasn't even a big deal to most jews. It's not even an important holiday is relation to the others. WHy are you making a big deal out of this?

There was a menorah in the winter banner prior to the last one.

EDIT: i was just pointing out that to my recolection that 03's xmas banner was mostly stuff like xmas lights and snowflakes. Not jesus in a manger and menorahs and kwanza candles.

I thought the holiday banner had a Star of David in it?

Yes I am Jewish, and Hannukah still is a holiday, and i dont remember seeing a Star of David on the banner. But thats not the point Im trying to make. Although the banners try to be non-secular, I dont do any of those. Ive never hung up lights around my house. Ive never trimmed a tree. Light a menora however, yes.
