Oh lord. This is getting ridiculous. When will we find out about this?
Don't worry, it's coming.
Well, this thread had been dead for 2 and a half months. Figured I'd up it while there's actual activity today.
Maybe they're just too scared to officially cancel it for fear it unleash the vengeance of Kyle Katarn upon them.
I just read the 1st half of book 1.
Kyle Katarn fakes his death and goes undercover, but the bad guys aren't fooled, as they know there's no way for Kyle to die. So they enlist Waru to take Kyle down. That's as far as I've gotten. Oh, also some stuff with Jaden. Like, 20 clones of him going, "Wassup, Jaaaaaaaaaaaaden" to each other.
The say no news is good news, but sometimes 3 years is a bit much. Paul Kemp commented on this duology in his recent AMA on reddit.
On whether or not Kemp could reveal details or even a timeframe in which the books would be released:
So the inference is that this duology is not cancelled yet, but there's a pretty good certainty that we won't see it for some time.
It had already been, what, two years with literally no details even before the Disney announcement? I'm not holding my breath on it not being cancelled.
It's already cancelled in my mind.
Kemp confirmed in his reddit ama that this is on stand by.
And I'm sure that's a polite euphemism, either on his part or on the part of LFL.
Well he did say he was under contract. But contracts can be bought out.
And so was this....
Sure, you can say: Wait for it, it'll be great, but 3 years+? Pushing it, really pushing it!
NJO had books contracted out that got cancelled. Michael Jan Friedman wrote a full novel called Jedi Storm that was cancelled after completion, along with the rest of the trilogy he was contracted to do.
Yes, but they didn't write Riptide...
Is it sad that I almost want it to be cancelled at this point, just so they'll tell us what it was going to be about?
I don't even care if it gets cancelled at this point, I just want to know what the **** it is.
There's no guarantee then you'll find out!
You're all welcome for that, by the way.
Ask Kemp at gunpoint.
Threats of violence are unnecessary when you can just as easily tie him up and make him watch the Holiday Special. I'm betting he'll crack on the third viewing.
Bah. He'll break at Luke's eyeliner.
Personally, I broke- in more ways than one- at the wookiee cooking show scene.
That's not bad as Chewbacca's pervert father.
