Damn. Some of my older socks have email addresses I can't even remember. Maybe I should sell some of them off now at bargain prices.

 

I erroneously assumed that you would realise that "well" wouldn't come up in a spellcheck.

Is the email address your new password will be sent to the one you list under "private email" in user details? Because my public one is a tfn address I've never actually used.

 

I think it does use the private mail first, yes. Thats how it used to work the last time I tried, at least, and... well, it's what makes sense.

Why don't you try using the password recovery link and tell us what happens? Just to be safe.

 

I approve of this work-around.

I would simply remove the public address, if you don't want your private e-mail in the open.

And yeah, your public email is basically meaningless. You could say it's Flimflamajimjam@yourmom.com and it'd come up as valid. Private's the one that does stuff.
