If possible, it'd be great to show how everyone's grown in their acting over the years. I think I'm not the only one that can tell how much everyone's improved from MS1 till now, as well as how much older they look these days.

But that'd be quite a challenge. But I agree that some big documentry would be awesome.

Shoot on overcast days and for the love of all that is good and Holy, don't overexpose your highlights.

Another thing is if it all possible, don't get the sky in picture, and obviously sky replacement can go a long way in making the shot look more realistic. As long as you take the time to really tweak it all to make it look just right. One thing I do is have other people look at my shots, for one shot I thought looked absolutely fake, many people taking a glance at the scene would recognize it as "realistic", so still don't kill yourself over it, it's more what your audience thinks than anything IMHO.

Just got around to watching this. Congrats to Joe and all others involved. A great way to end he series. The action and story were good. Actors good.

I even managed to laugh out-loud when Mario was in the gym and he had to get down from the mats. That cracked me up.

    Well worth the watch.

Ladies and Gentlemen, I would like to present to you all the fourth part in our five part Wed Documentary series for The Movie Spoof 3.

One of the most important and ambitious sequences in the entire trilogy is the battle between Ares' forces and Mario's forces outside the fortress of plantitude. For this sequence to come to life, an enormous amount of preparation time was required and eventually would take 3 years to finally be able to become full realized. Take a look behind what it took to conceptualize, plan, prepare, and shoot the The Battle for Plantdor.

Web Documentary Part 4 - The Battle Begins

man you had to go through nightmare. its so true the more idiots you get together, the more chaos it creates. its amazing how much a director has to control and sometimes crack the whip when it comes to extras. I've done a few larger extra shots and it is probably one of the times when the creators will be the most stressed. props to you joe fo rising your sanity with 30 guys. so whens the next one? lol

Wow. Cool. So Joe, is there any 1 (or 2 or 3) secret tip on getting battles looking as good as you do? I did notice that the first attempt was terrible, but couldn't pick out what made it that way. Any advice? I have a huge battle to film in the summer and would like some tips.
