Today, I went to the dentist and got typically bad news (that ought to draw Adam in here for a post!) .

This afternoon, I donated blood. Then I stopped at the library and checked out a whole bunch of CDs.

In other news, I'm driving to Lincoln, Nebraska this weekend for a concert.

Also debating if I want to drive to St. Paul in October to see Roger Waters perform The Wall.

Yeah, not quite that double-billing of Pearl Jam and U2 that we've always hoped for, but it will do.

Give me a Grog...Wait give me several grogs and keep them coming. My computer goes down so I had to find a temp one, now I'm on my second temp computer and just getting back to the boards. Now I hear Star Wars is coming to blu-ray. Don't have a player but I will get it till I do. That will be the 5th copy of the classic trilogy in the house. 2 aren't even mine

I have a Blu-Ray player, but am not sure if the SW Saga will become part of that collection. We still own the original VHS, the Special Editions, and the DVD box set, so it's not decided if the Blu-Ray will be worth buying or not.

Apparently there was news at CV suggesting that a "full soundtrack for the saga" is under consideration and would be timed with the release of the movies on blu-ray.

We'll see how that pans out.

    //serves up many grogs

Looks like it's time for Tim to unlock Matto's thread on the eventual complete soundtracks for AOTC and ROTS...

Hard to believe the last post is almost two years ago...

Mmm, love the Force Theme here.

    Complete soundtracks would be awesome!

Star Wars on Blue Ray, will probably be awesome, but I will probably not buy. I already have them on VHS twice, Laserdisk, and on DVD. Given that I don't have a blue-ray player or a TV that would make blue-ray worth it (Still using a 25 year old CRT), I don't think I could convince my wife of the need for another copy of the OT.

I agree with Mastadge, we should open up that thread again since we finally have some good news to report. Though they may just decide not to go through with it.

I will certainly be buying the star wars saga on blu-ray as tomorrow I pick up my playstation 3 and thus enter the age of blu-ray.

Given that a lot of those kinds of things usually go on the chopping block after a couple of months, there is a certain air of doubt that the complete soundtracks will ever be released. However, they do sound rather interesting.

Yup. Lord of the Rings is/was trying to do the same thing.

Star Wars is worse though. I never bought the original DVD release of the OT, even though I desperately wanted the Extras Disc. A few years later DW found just the extras disc on Ebay for about $10. Best Christmas present that year.

Of course. Three more movies, one more trilogy.

True, but here's more of what I mean (and I understand that Star Wars has 20 extra years of time to fill):
    LOTR:
    1. Original Theatrical DVD
    2. Special Edition DVD
    3. Special Edition DVD with Figurine
    4. Combined Theatrical/Special Edition
    5. Original Theatrical Blu-Ray
    6. Special Edition Blu-Ray (this has not been released or even announced, but you have to assume that it's coming)

    Star Wars:
    1. OT on VHS (released in the 80's)
    2. OT THX remastered on VHS (released early 90's)
    3. OT THX remastered on Laserdisc
    4. OT Special Edition on VHS (released 1997)
    5. OT Special Edition on DVD with 4th features disc
    6. PT on DVD (as they came out)
6.5. TPM on VHS, AND the special version of it that came with a book and a strip of film
    7. OT on DVD along with a copy of the original theatrical (looks like another copy of THX remastered to me)
    8. OT on Blu-Ray (don't know if this has been announced yet)
    9. PT on Blu-Ray
    10. If I recall correctly, there is also a release of the PT in cases that match the most recent release to the OT (thin cases), but I can't definitely recall seeing it as I stopped paying attention due to a lust problem (lust = wanting every release, but not having the money to support the habit)

Now that I have written it all out, LOTR actually seems to be worse given the difference in how long the series' have been around. I thought Star Wars would have more than twice the number of releases.

Feel free to add any that I missed.

That's more than I would have listed. :p
