I don't get enough live film scores in my life.
Move to georgia
They had Star Wars In Concert down in Jacksonville a few years ago...that was just incredible fun.
This year at the Spectacular they did DOTF without a choir (not sure why; they had a choir for it and BOTH last year); interesting to just listen to the orchestration on that. Quite alot the chorus drowns out ordinarily.
You could not pay me enough to move to Georgia... ;-)
I was honestly pretty surprised when I moved here...I'm definitely not an Obama-hating hillbilly and I do fine.
The governor sucks though
So.... I've been listening to the Imperial March on repeat for at least an hour now while working on some boring process documentation.
I think it's motivating me to be far more productive than usual.
Speaking of good music...disappointed that there haven't been a whole lot of good scores in the last few years. At least, I don't think there have been
Oh not this old topic again...
It's the circle of life strilo
Talking about film score in the Tavern are we?
I saw Into Darkness last weekend, and I feel underwhelmed by the score. It seemed too similar to the 2009 film.
Also, what's up with that title?
Why not just call it Star Trek And The Torpedoes Of Khan? Or maybe Star Trek: Anger But Not Quite Wrath Of Khan? Or even Star Trek, Tribbles And The Blood Of Khan?
Gets people talking about the film doesn't it?
This is precisely why I listen to older stuff.
Well, it is dark in space.
GK I was underwhelmed with the score the first time I saw the film as well. It fairs much better on the second viewing.
I like Benedict's music in particular. He played the role 'scary' and it suits the character quite well, I think.
London Calling is a great track.
That's the one with the solo piano, right? If so, yes.
I don't think London's ever been particularly featured in ST before, now that I think about it.
It is very cold in space.
So shouldn't it be StarTrek: Into Coldness?
The film is darker. The concern that Starfleet is heading into a darker place. I am sure you are joking, but just in case...
Happy 30th Anniversary to Return Of The Jedi!
I saw it on Saturday of its opening weekend. While I was waiting in line, some ******* exited the theater from the previous showing and yelled
"Darth Vader kills the Emperor!"
I'm gonna watch it tonight, probably the blu-ray, though I'm considering the O-OT dvd.
//cranks up "Battle Of Endor II" on the jukebox
Snape Kills Dumble . . . oh wait, wrong franchise.
And this sums it up.
Friday!!! I am excited, I get to see my first ever VfB Stuttgart match, on TV or in person. Lived there for a year and never saw them play. And it's on US TV to boot!
And they lost.
Was nice to see them play though!
Thanks for sharing a double post. I appreciate your JCing.
