What's the median price of a house in Portland these days? Or are you looking in the suburbs/out of town?

I have no idea what the median price is. I'm probably looking on the west side of Portland where I've lived for most of the last 15 years.

So how do you like The Beatles 1+? I got a copy this weekend (along with a ton of other music since I've got a 5% Amazon cash back quarter on my Visa), but only had time to listen to a couple of tracks so far. The intro on "Real Love" sounds better than on the Anthology, though I still love Lennon's demo from the Imagine soundtrack.

I've only listened to the CD and the remixes sound incredible. This is what I want done with their entire catalogue!!!

One would think that if this release sells well, Apple might employ Giles Martin to expand the remixed catalog.

Sir Paul has made comments about 5.1 remixes being the next format that the Beatles' music might be released in, like CDs in the 80s and iTunes more recently.

I never connected the Star Wars Christmas Special with your birthday.

    Happy Life Day!

    The Family Plot
The only Williams/Hitchcock score. I wouldn't ever consider it one of the best scores from either of them but it does make me curious as to what further collaborations would have brought had Hitchcock lived and continued making films.

Thanks, GK! It was an okay one. Portland had a massive rain storm and it snarled traffic something fierce. I felt like I spent half my birthday in traffic.

I love ice cream, but I try to limit it to the summer time.

    Lair

One of my favorite "could be Star Wars" scores though it's unrelenting and veers a bit too closely to pastiche.

Lair? I've not seen it. Do any wampas live there?

It's a failed video game. For some reason copies of it can be found everywhere. I guess they were really pushing it as "the next big thing"

I'd encourage you (and most others here, assuming they're fans of John Williams music) to listen to the score. Like I said, it's a lot like a Star Wars score in general sound and structure.

I'm listening to my Bob Dylan six disc The Cutting Edge today. Fascinating.

I'm sure I'll dive into more SW music in the next few months. I see Amazon has the soundtrack for TFA listed for release on Dec. 18.

I've been listening to all the remixed Beatles stuff ever since 1+ came out. Sounds super awesome.

Currently listening to the awesome finale cue from James Newton's Howard's Signs.

    Ahhhh it's so close!!! [face_nail_biting]
In less than a month I'll be listening to a new John Williams Star Wars score!!! [face_nail_biting]

I still need to watch the disc 1 videos from 1+.

It's been over ten years since our last JW SW score. Had a sixteen year dry spell from 1983 - 1999; we got DOTF, TF march, and great themes for Anakin, Qui-Gon and Jar-Jar. I wonder if the Force Theme will feature prominently in The Force Awakens. :)

I sure hope so! I'm kind of surprised that we haven't gotten to hear whatever the new concert arranged theme is.

Just got back from TFA. I won't say much right now as I need to get this old body to sleep soon, but I very much enjoyed it.

I'm gonna order the soundtrack from Amazon tomorrow; should get it by Monday. I won't have time to listen this weekend anyhow. If I have a little free time, I'll try to go back for a big screen viewing.

I ended up running to Target to pick up the soundtrack at lunch yesterday. They had it on sale for $9.99. Listening to it for the second time now.

p.s. There was a really cute girl working at the checkout at Target.
