    > And I don't listen to Channel Z--like I said, too loud.

Most of the newer radios have a feature where you can set the loudness at a level that suits the individual listener.

Me, after a solid grounding of classic rock on Radio Hauraki, I now cannot listen to anything other than student radio (bFM up here). It's always interesting listening.

yea usually a round knob on the side. turns either way.

    really handy.

    ********

in all seriousness ChannelZ plays Travis etc - they are not entirely "loud".

Where do you find that kind of radios? You know, the ones with the knob?

I like easy listening. I like to get all tearful when a really romantic song comes on. Like Unchained Melody . . . mmmmmm

Talking about getting tearful, how about that song about Superman? How does it go? 'I'm more than a man in a funny red sheet, more than a pretty face beside a train, even heroes have a right to dream . . . *sniff* why do songs do this to me?!

As far as NZ bands go, my favourites are Remote, Tadpole and Zed. If I were to name overseas band there'd be too many that I can be bothered to list right now.

Did anyone here go to the BDO?

yeah, student radio tends to be better than the pulp crap most other stations play.........radio 1 in Dunedin is pretty good, and RDU in christchurch...........that is, if you don't really care for the current top 40

Anyone listen to many web radio stations? some of those are really good, and the choice of different stuff is amazing!
