Fantastic chapter MasterRev,

I loved the ending, i'm pretty sure that Ani isn't going to die or stay dead becuse he's still has alot of things to do in this lifetime.
Maybe we needed this scene so that Padme can't start realizing how deep her feelings really go for Ani.
And it's good that Ani got mortally wounded, since it will keep him grounded that he's still a mortal and not a god, something i think Palpatine has forgotten about himself, that arragont SOB.

Behind her mother?s back, at that same moment, Padmé stuck her tongue out at her sister and whispered, ?Shaak face.?

Sibling 'clashes' don't have age decrepency.

?I thought I was your favorite?? Padmé declared while flashing him a playful grin.

Anakin?s face flushed a deep red as he placed Ryoo back down on the ground. This prompted Sola to remark, ?I didn?t know that the beloved hero our people could turn such a deep shade of red.?

Oh that is Cruel!

Anakin must be so red that he'd make a tomato seem pale.

She paused to cast a happy smile at Anakin. ?... I would like for you to be the one to accompany me this time.?

?Me?? Anakin replied, unconsciously pointing at his chest.

No, the Ewok trying to benchpress that shaak in the back, of course you!

?Of course you realize what this means?? Padmé said, sharing a conspiratorial glance with her sister.

?What?? Anakin timidly asked.

?My mother, Sola and I will decide upon what you will wear.?

All the adults in attendance tried, but failed to sequester their laughter at the utter look of horror that completely consumed Anakin?s face

What is this, 'Torment poor Anakin Day'?

After docking their transport Obi-Wan and Siri, dressed in nondescript clothing,

Yes! The mission has comenced!

?Where were they going?? Siri growled, pressing her blade closer to the man?s face.

?Duro,? he nervously stuttered. ?He was taking them to Duro.?

At least they have a target suspect. I hope they find him soon!

When they previously had spoken, Anakin had felt as if the Chancellor could see straight through him.

Oh, he has no idea...

?Perhaps in time your skills could be of service to me??

?Excellency?? He looked at the Chancellor, bewildered.

Palpatine stopped walking and gave Anakin a solemn glance. ?Of course, I mean the Republic.?

*cough* Bullsh...*cough*

?The High Protector will be escorting Queen Amidala to the ceremonial dais. Under no circumstances is he to be severely harmed. I have?plans for him.?

Gee, I wonder what those plans are?

Plus, I still think that Sidious is setting Veruna up for a fall...all part of the 'master plan'. After all, Palpy is the master planner.

Renaltus found himself praying to the spirits for guidance.

I have a feeling they're not with you.

?No I will not be quiet you tiny little rust bucket?General Panaka was most displeased with your little repair of his speeder.?

3PO: He may never regain use of his pelvis! Or his legs! And they're still looking for his right ear!

Padmé smiled as she rose. Turning to Anakin, she extended her hand and said, ?Shall we??

As Anakin basked in Padmé?s glow, a sudden blackness overcame him. He closed his eyes briefly to pick up several presences whose energy was building up in anticipation of something dark.

Loved the glimpse of Anakin-as-ship-designer; I could so see that happening if it weren?t for a few other minor qualities in his character?you know, being the chosen One and all!!!!

With scenes like that one and the one after with Padmé and her family, you have such a gift for rounding out the characters in wonderful, human ways, making them so warm and real. Sola and Padmé ? that?s so true, it could have come out of my own family! ? and yet we never lose sight of their rightful place in the GFFA and in your story. Lovely storytelling, my friend!

I felt sorry for Siri and her sadness, but I have to say that she very quickly convinced me (at the end of her lightsaber, as a matter of fact!) that she is going to achieve her goal and find the child. I have no doubt of it.

The scenes with Palpatine and Veruna were seriously creepy. I?m glad that Anakin felt uneasy, but he is still too young and inexperienced to put all the pieces together. That alone was enough to give me a Very Bad Feeling? the plans of the assassins made it even worse, and then the way you built up to the terrible events at the end of the chapter made it downright awful.

I knew something horrible was going to happen. Horribly enough, I was right? You didn?t pull any punches, did you?

Anakin was about to turn about when Padmé screamed, ?Behind you!?

A sharp pain pulsated through his chest. He fell to his knees. When he looked down, he saw the pointed end of a dagger sticking out of his torso with blood soaking his hands. Strangely, he laughed as he dropped to the ground.

?I honestly don?t know what was so special about you, Skywalker.? Renaltus barked.

I mean, by all the gods, Rev! Anakin did his best and fought bravely, but look what you did to him!!!!

As she carefully leaned him onto his side, he reached up to touch the side of her disheveled face. Wiping away a stream of tears, he smiled sadly. ?Don?t cry, my angel Queen? I love you so? I had to save you.?

?And I love you,? Padmé muttered through her tears. ?Please don?t leave.?

?I am already there,? he sighed and closed his eyes.

?Ani?? She called out, but he remained still. ?Anakin!? she cried out as she cradled him in her arms. ?Somebody please help me!?

You had better fix this!!! Immediately!!! I mean it!!!! And soon!!!!!!!

He definitely held his own.

OK - We've got a little bit of a problem here! There IS or course the possibility that the knife may have missed his vital organs, but he's gonna bleed to death in short order if someone doesn't do something quick! And I don't think direct pressure is going to be enough!

Not only that but he probably is having some respiratory issues. All will be revealed. But yes, direct pressure won't be enough.

Ilianya's back and helped guide everyone in saving Anakin and realizes just how important Padmé is, Qui-Gon's talking to Obi-Wan, Lady Force introduced herself to her little Chosen One and is getting into threatening matches with Palpster (I assume it was her, anyway), and now Palpster and Dooku have put Order 66 into the clones. Eep. That's not good. Lotsa good Jedi are probably gonna end up dead.

Whew! What a relief!

As Ilianya initiated the bond, she jarred when she felt the shear strength of the Force within Anakin. It was as if she had flown into a supernova?it was beyond anything she had ever experienced. Yet despite his raw power, she was able to glimpse memories of kind acts and gentleness. In that moment she understood the true nature of his existence.

?You never cease to amaze me, Exile.? The Force called out to her.

Ilianya opened her eyes to see the woman gently caressing Anakin?s forehead. ?Did it work??

?He?s still alive isn?t he??

Palpy and his evil schemes!! And Ani will be ok!!

 

*Sigh* What a good chapter!

Nice to see Qui-Gon, he's always got the right thing to say!

If she had, then perhaps he would be sitting with her at that moment. What if he died? What would she do without him? Tears began to trail down the sides of her face, which she made no effort to wipe away.

Poor Padmé's anxiety is so touching. Makes me sniffle

I was so glad Obi-wan could come to Anakin and I really liked this:

The raging storm disappeared and she found herself in a peaceful meadow filled with flowers and rolling hills. In the distance she saw a tall tree on top of a hill with a still form sitting underneath. Moving closer she smiled at the look of surprise on Anakin?s face.

And this was wonderful too:

?My lady, may I only ask only one thing?? The Force smiled and motioned silently for him to continue. "Why am I your chosen one?? Anakin asked, cocking his head to one side.

The Force leaned her face next to his ear, but rather than speaking, she kissed his check then straightened. ?Always remember, you are never alone.?


?Are you an angel?? He asked with a crooked grin.

She could not help but cry as she reached over to embrace him. ?Anakin?I thought I lost you.?

Ok - sniffling again!

Reaching into the Force, Sidious allowed his consciousness to search until he found the right answer. ?We shall call it Order 66?the destruction of all non-clone commanders in the field.?

?I will see to it immediately, Master Sidious.?

Oh man! Sinister!

 

You know, Qui-Gon made TPM for me. Even now he's the part that most sticks out, so it's always nice to see him. He's just rockin'.

The Force personified: it's an interesting take. I really do need to get back into the KOTOR games...you do a fine job with the Exile, I just wonder if I wouldn't like it more if I knew some of the backstory.

Perfect, sinister ending: the birth of Order 66. Your Palpatine/Sidious is engrossing and thoroughly creepy.

I thought last chapter was my favorite, but I think I like this chapter more. Wow, I just loved the interaction between Gen Tro and Anakin and Anakin and The Force. She is always so mysterious. Lovely character, it seems to make sense more than just a bunch of Midichlorians and a force energy field. I am so looking forward to see how you end this. However, I will be sad when the end comes........Is there a sequel in the future??????

?Qui-Gon!? Obi-Wan said in disbelief.

In the flesh!...almost. Ah who cares, all that matters is that he's here!

?By rights I should be expelled from the Order,? Obi-Wan sighed.

?In the eyes of the Jedi, perhaps.? Qui-Gon responded with a mirthful grin. ?However, the Force itself is pleased and remains with you.?

And that is all that should really matter when it comes to obeying the will of the Force.

?The will of the Force is something that is beyond simple mortal understanding. Only now am I beginning to comprehend her infinite secrets.?

?Her?? Obi-Wan asked curiously, raising his eyebrows.

Well, if anyone was still questioning as to who this mystical women was...there's your answer.

He had saved her life once again, but this time the price had been much higher. She was angry at herself for not taking his nightmares more seriously. If she had, then perhaps he would be sitting with her at that moment.

She'd better take his dreams seriously, fore they'll only become more intense as time goes. by.

?he?s lapsed into a coma. There?s a strong possibility that he?s suffered brain damage.

I can definately see why Obi-Wan would be most helpful here, in more ways than one might think.

?Oh Ani,? she whispered as she reached for his hand. ?Why do you have to be so brave??

It's all for you, dear. He'd do anything and everying for you.

It took every shred of his practiced control not to destroy the building with his wrath

The vein on his forehead must be pulsing right now.

The damned fool Veruna had betrayed him...In the end it would have been better to have killed him back at the highland?s castle.

So he really expect Veruna to succeed. Well, knowing Palpy, even with this setback he's nowhere near out of the game yet.

Obi-Wan placed his hand on Anakin?s forehead, attempting to channel some of his own Force energy into his friend. However, the void was immense, causing him to recoil painfully.

Oh boy, not good. Now what?

It was early in the morning when Ilianya returned to Theed.

Thank the Force, perhaps she's the one who'll bring Anakin back.

By your actions you've prevented a terrible fate from befalling the Naboo people.? He was about to protest when she lifted her hand. ?It was my will. That should clear your conscience; but all in due time, my beloved."

If he doesn't wise up after that, nothing will. But something tells me he'll take what 'she' says to heart.

?Are you an angel?? He asked with a crooked grin.

OF course he already knows the answer to that.

Siri chimed in, ?How did you do it??

?Magic,? Ilianya replied, offering a wink at Anakin.

?However you did it?our many thanks.? Padmé said happily.

Thanks are in order. But something tells me someone will want an explanation on said 'magic' in the future.

?We shall call it Order 66?the destruction of all non-clone commanders in the field.?

Let us hope that this dreaded order is neve implemented.

Padmé opened her eyes when she heard the chime of the life support machines echoing louder and louder. Darting her gaze over to Anakin, she gasped when she saw his blue eyes fixed upon her. For a moment, she didn?t know what to say as she looked upon him.

?Are you an angel?? He asked with a crooked grin.

She could not help but cry as she reached over to embrace him. ?Anakin?I thought I lost you.?

?Impossible,? he answered, his grin growing. ?You said I still have much to do. And who am I to disobey your orders??

Whew! I'm so glad you didn't kill him!

I especially liked how, in the beginning of the chapter, Padme and Anakin's roles were somewhat "reversed" with Padme being the one feeling guilt that she couldn't save him or that she didn't prevent it from happening.

And as for Palpy, he never gives up, does he?!

Stunning finale, Rev! The transition from the peaceful and innocent family meal to the assassination attempt was smoothe and perfect. Anakin was quite the impressive hero; after this scene I would be surprised if everybody on Naboo didn't worship him. By the way, I had complete faith that you wouldn't kill him off...what you write for a sequel then?

Hope you enjoy. As for the sequel, I've decided to be skipping ahead about 3 and a half years. Essential it will be two years before the outbreak of the Clone Wars, at least in the timeframe in canon. In this universe, anything is possible though. .

*Snags First Post and Jumps with Glee* Sigh. That was the most perfect ending I could think of. Putting closure to a lot of things, but still leaving others things open, letting us wonder. YAY for Sabe and Obi Wan finally getting together!!!!! Obi Wan's proposal was SOOOOOOOOO SWEET!!!!!!!!! And YAY for Ani and Ami!!!! Staying on Naboo was definetly the better choice for Anakin, he's really a lot more mature and in tune with the will of Lady Force where he is. The Jedi Temple sufficated him, and tried to twist him into a typical Jedi, but he didn't and couldn't fit that image. I guess he always harbored bad feelings, somewhere deep down because of that. All Palpatine had to do was play off his fear and anger, and voila . . . "Rise Lord Vader." On a different note, I'm still definetly worried for Dahlia and Siri, things really aren't going too well for them.
Very glad that you're doing a sequel. I only suggested the OT becuase I think it'd be really interesting to see how this affected Luke and Leia and their friends' lives. In short, Master Rev, I love you.

 

Lovely ending, I look forward to the epilogue or whatever else you would like to write. Well done, you really have a way with words.

 

*shrieks happily* Obi 'n Sabé tied the knot! *squeals and bounces around the room* The wedding scene was beautiful, Rev. As I read it, I couldn't help but think that it complimented Anakin and Padmé's wedding in AotC. I could almost imagine the setting sun shining through the windows of the chapel, its rays resting on the two of them. *sighs dreamily* Beautiful.

The moment between Anakin and Padmé was wonderful as well. *smiles indulgently* I love that they both accept one another's positions and are aware that there will one day be a time and place for them, when Queen Amidala and Lord-Protector Skywalker are no longer needed so much. And Lady Force sings of patience to her Chosen One.

Wonderful chapter, wonderful story overall, Rev! This story has been a joy to read! Can't wait to see what the epilogue has in store for everyone!
