hehe, i just went down to the boot maker this morning with a few reference pics. he took some custom measurements, we chose the correct color, and decided on the right sole. the total cost will be around $150 and they'll be ready on sunday. i'll definitely post pics when i get them home.

I think I am going to go for Obi boots, but they aren't much different overall. I'll get all of my pictures printed out and be ready to take them to him. I assume he is open during the week? Did you say he was downtown? Care to pm me his info?

J-K, i live in korea on an air force base at the moment. i doubt you'll be able to take your pics to this guy.

however, if you want to order a pair of obi boots for yourself, i'd suggest waiting to see how mine turn out and then letting me order them for you. as you said above, the obi boots are not much different and if he does a good job on my ani ones, they shouldn't be a problem. i'll pm you the specifics if you're interested, as advertising/selling isn't allowed on the boards.

Talk to Jeff about the hilt. If I had pictures might be able to try the pockets. I've seen some that people have made for like Ani, Obi & Jango, they look real good.

my boots are finished!!!

just got these back today and i must say i'm very happy with the way they turned out
heh, the guy even told me that he finished them yesterday and had them sitting out with the rest of the boots, and people kept asking if they could buy them.

I would like a sleeker sole though. I want mine to look more like these:

Can he do a sole like that? I don't want the "hiking boot" sole, I want the dress sole.
