I've got my layout. I should be getting some cutouts soon for it, because Picture-It! Publishing doesn't really fare well with making cutouts for banners, and that's the software I'm using. I don't have Photoshop. But it is turning out pretty well.

 

I want a big carrot to be on the banner.

The Boston references aside, I do like the look of it. The colors make me happy, lots of blue. Reminds me I need to change my colors soon.

Hi all!
As one of the 'older' members who doesn't post much, I would like to say no to the post counting suggestion. I go to school, have kids and don't have a lot of time to post often, but as a member of this group I do want a chance to vote.
Of course this is just my two cents...

 

the whole reason we are doing that is so that people can't just register and vote.

when we needed a new name, I suggested that they make the final decision at the meeting so that the people that are the most involved would have the final say even though that didn't involve me. this is going to sound extremely harsh, but if you don't post often, you shouldn't have a say in which banner we choose.

that's like saying that Canadians that visit the U.S. every few months should have the right to vote for our president.

 

Brian is right, and I agree with him, to a point. People who are posting members of the board and head to meetings should be allowed to vote, as long as they are not a 11/04 or a 12/04. Christine has been with us since this summer, August I'd say and she's attended two official meetings and hosted one of those.

You never did say your suggested post count Brian. I have no idea what it should be. Maybe a 100 spanning over at least a couple months, a good portion of which (say 1/3 to 1/2) posts on the StL boards? Of if you have a slightly lesser post count but have attended several meetings you get a vote. Sound fair?

 

I think we know who the regulars are here at the boards.

 

OK, I haven't been here as long as I should have.......

 

But right now, I consider you a regular.

See what I mean? I know where Brian is coming from on this, but there are new members that just joined up that are probably going to be sticking around, and we aren't going to let them vote because they haven't been here as long as some of us? It doesn't make sense.

 

I never said newer members coudn't vote. I simply said that people that don't post here often shouldn't get to vote. And yes, we do have a solid number of regulars. I might try to put together a list of the people I think should get to vote and post it so in case I forgot anyone, we can correct it.

 

I don't think KOB should be allowed, well, anyway we should cut his post count to about 1/3 for usefullness.

I don't really think post count should weigh that much on a decision. I've been on here for over 2 years and I don't even have 390 posts yet. Don't forget participation in meetings and such...

And, how many times do us girls have to tell you guys that it's the quality, not the quantity...

 

I think everyone should be able to vote but the ones that post more often should have more say about it. Example: post often = 1 1/2, not often = 1. At least everyone gets to vote or something like that.

 

Actually, since it's a STLFF situation, it should probably be best resolved at a STLFF Meeting.... since that's what the meetings are actually intended for, are they not? Handle it like the name change itself.
