The new but not so improved timeline in SBS (No spoilers)

Well, I got a copy of SBS, and I was shocked to see the number of typos in the new timeline! Whoever let this one pass should be fired!!!

Here are all the errors I found:

22 yearsbefore Star Wars: A New Hope
Star Wars: Episode II

Okay, so that's just a typo, no space between years and before. That one's not so bad.

Year O
Star Wars: Episode IV

Episode IV? Since when is it just Episode IV?

Ah, but the next two are the worst of all.

3 years after Star Wars: A New Hope

Star Wars: Episode I: The Empire Strikes Back

LOL! Episode I? And you think this one is bad? Look at the next one!!

4 years after Star Wars: A New Hope

Star Wars: Episode I: The Phantom Menace

Episode II is 22 BSW4, and Episode III is 20.

 

Well as long as the story rocks, I'll forgive the odd typo(s)...

Even us newbies! I mean, c'mon... and you say that this thing is in the actual book itself? I hope they fix it with later editions.

 

I'm surprised that they would let that slip through. It's even worse than "Most fiercest" on the back of the Rebirth cover .

Hope they change it before Dark Journey and Rebel Dream.

Yes, it's in the book itself, the EP2 date was correct at 22, I typed it wrong and edited it, and I'll scan it when I finish the book, so probably tomorrow night. It really is quite hilarious.

 

And some people here wonder why my opinion of Del Rey is so low...

 

Maybe you just got an early version that was rushed through the printers? ? And once again, I'm jealous of you getting another book first! Why, Lord why? ::weeps:: Not that I'm going to read it until a few weeks, but still...

 

Well, I suppose if someone else has SBS we could ask them if their copy has the same errors, and I bet they all do.

 

Yeah, but I'm sure another printing will fix it in a few weeks down the line, after the initial pressing.

That is, if LFL cares.

It's not so much that it effects the book. It just bugs me that they are so sloppy!

 

I can already imagine newbies to the EU...finally realizing when their beloved films took place.

I'm not really bothered by the error itself, but it does become harder to defend Del Rey's continuity editors when they make these sorts of mistakes.

What are the margins like? Is it 606 pages of small or large print?

 

Same exact interior layout, print size, margins as the other NJO HCs.
