Fanclub -The New Galactic Empire- (New Members Always Welcome!)

With the release of a new trilogy rapidly approaching the moderation staff of the Star Wars Community has decided that the SWC needs to undergo a slight reorganization. We are attempting to realign the SWC as a whole with Star Wars canon. There have also been requests from other users regarding the setup of alternative Imperial fanclubs which would be more accessible than those currently in operation, and we believe that the following decision is for the benefit of all. To ensure that confusion is kept to a minimum it has been decided that the New Galactic Empire fanclub needs to be locked. While we appreciate that this will be a slight surprise to the actual members involved, we feel that this will reinvigorate the Imperial fanbase as a whole.

We have no issues with other fan clubs arising based upon canon and the current timeline that are connected to the NGE such as, say, the Four Sages of Dwartii Fan Club but NGE ties up too many elements and is too far removed from canon. Note that this also does not preclude the existence of an "Imperial Fanclub" which can be started so long as it conforms to the standards and approval of SWC Moderation Staff.

Going forward we would like to see fanclubs which are in line with current Star Wars canon. We will allow only one "Imperial fanclub", and up until now the NGE was it. Sadly the fanclub has become focused on role playing set in a futuristic setting rather than a fanclub for fans of all things "Imperial", where discussion can be had regarding such. This will serve to make the new fanclub more accessible to all users.

Any future Imperial Fanclub must address this issue and be for the enjoyment of all Imperial fans, not just those who wish to role play. Likewise, discussion there needs to be centered on the Empire of the "Imperial Age", basically as seen in canon material from the establishment of Palpatine's reign through its end following the Battle of Endor. It will not be a place for speculative futures to the canon or fan fictions. The same parameters will also be enforced on any other future fanclubs such as a new Rebel Alliance fanclub (which would cover the same time period as the Imperial fanclub, but from the "other" side), a Republic fanclub, Separatist fanclub or whatever factions are created for the Sequel Trilogy.
