he's Han Solo from Waru's mirror universe that adopted the identity of Han's cousin even though we don't really know who Han's parents are

    the goatee tells it all

I sorta like to think of him as bearded Harrison Ford from The Fugitive.

It's an idea I had for a Rebels arc.

Thrackan kills Leia II and Han's like "I didn't kill my wife!" and Tommy Lee Jones shows up in the GFFA and goes "I don't care!"

It was fun reading the NJO without reading some of the other books and wondering why the hell Leia hated Thracken so much. Then finding out later that he was responsible for one of the Solo twins' weekly kidnapping excursions.

I really wish this series had unabridged audio books. I want to re-read it but I don't really have the time, but I do have the time to listen to audio books. And the abridged ones do not cut it.

I wouldn't mind getting those eventually if they did come out.

Of course if they produced the audio books now they'd probably suck and overuse music from Revenge of the Sith or Episode VII or something instead of using appropriate music like the abridged ones do.

Record yourself reading the missing parts and edit them into the abridged versions.

I'm pretty sure I read the one where Chewbacca dies (!!!), the one where Anakin Solo dies (!!!), the one where Jacen goes missing (unless those two were the same books?), and skimmed the last book (so I can't even remember how the Vong War finally ended). I tried to read them all in order but my library only had some of the series and it was just constant switching over to Wikipedia to keep track of which title came next.

And the Vong passages were a bit much sometimes, with their constant harping about "pain" this and "abomination" that. Dial it back a little, guys.

Or those quasi-child abusive "backpacks" in the shape of an innocuous-looking monkey which were really just a socially acceptable way of having your kids on a literal leash.

Ugh, when I see people walking around with those strapped to their kids...I mean, I understand for the safety factor, I guess, but a leash is taking it a bit far. Poor kids.

I was attempting to convey through sarcasm that it was a poorly written scene that was at odds with all prior characterization of Vergere as a Jedi master with self-mastery -- who wouldn't lose her cool as in that scene -- and thus it really shouldn't impugn someone's opinion of the character given that it isn't representative of how the character is written outside of that one scene.

I don't particularly hold it against Luke Skywalker as a character that he's on record saying that "Compassion is for those who deserve it," for instance.

What I find curious is that this is never objectively verified, when it very easily could have been. For example, Jacen JINO could have flow-walked on the asteroid in Betrayal and seen Vergere and Lumiya meeting with his own eyes, or Denning could have written her in the Lake of Apparitions, and frankly I'm surprised he didn't.

    edit: fixed

I like to think that Sword of the Jedi would have revealed that Yoda was a Sith when further investigation was performed on how he completely misinformed Luke about Mortis. Good thing we dodged that bullet.

I've developed a reading list to get back into reading Star Wars, since I haven't read a book since Kenobi:

    Dark Tide I: Onslaught
    Dark Tide II: Ruin
    Side Trip
    Traitor
    The Unifying Force
    Allegiance
Luke Skywalker and the Shadows of Mindor

If I get sufficiently sucked into Dark Tide I might just read the NJO.
