NEW REPUBLIC FACTION INFORMATION

The purpose of the New Republic is to bring about peace and justice in the galaxy. As such, it acts as an established government, consisting of both civilian and military functions.

It is divided into several smaller divisions which are as follows:

New Republic Senate, which houses the politicians, diplomats, and various other planetary and party representatives from those planets and/or organisations that have pledged their allegiance to the Republic.

New Republic Navy, consists of all space-capable vehicles and vessels (and their respective operators). This ranges from local transports and planetary security to starfighter squadrons and capital ships.

New Republic Army, which is comprised of all land-based military forces from those participating in special forces operations to full scale missions and assignments.

New Republic Intelligence, is the divison focused on the gathering and subsequent use of data and information for the furtherance of the Republic's goals.


If the goals of the New Republic suit your character needs, then this is the faction for you. To join, all you need do is send a private message to the faction leader(s) or make a post indicating that you wish to join. In doing so, you should consider which division of the Republic you would most like to be a part of (transfers between divisons will be made available if need be). You'll need the following for your bio: Character Name, Age, Gender, Species, Division, and whether or not you are Force sensitive.

The Game Masters for this thread are: Thok, Gorin_Zachian, Handmaiden_Yane and LightSide_Apprentice. This team is subject to change as time draws on.


SETTING

In Orbit of Mon Calamari

One year has passed, in which a complete cease-fire between the New Republic and the Galactic Empire had stood strong. Peace was the intended eventuality, but conflict could never be fully resolved. Throughout the year, the New Republic spent considerable time and funding strengthening their fleet, their planetary governments and galaxy-wide standing, to secure its territories should the Empire ever betray its trust. Now, the Republic's Cheif of Stae, Mon Mothma, has prepared to make that armistice a concrete agreement. Her shuttle is ready, as she prepared to make her way toward Coruscant, Imperial Centre, to conduct negotiations for a complete peace with the Galactic Empire.


If you'd like to join the New Republic, and be a part of the Integrated Balance of Power, please don't hesitate to make your wishes known. The above is merely an introductory setting, and a more detailed story will soon unfold.

The New Republic does indeed have in it's possession a SSD. It was in use in the NJO and while I know this is set in infinities, I would still like to make use of this ship.

Also, and this is just a suggestion, wouldn't it be a good idea that at the end of each GM's day, no matter where they are located geographically, that they post a summery of what has happened?

While that idea has it's merits, it's better I think to post when needed.

 

Rampani, I strongly recommend you read the Information thread for this RPG. Ranks must be earned. No one will begin with a SSD unless they can prove that they're a competent player. If you want to be in the New Republic's Navy then that's fine, perhaps in time you will earn the rank you seem to think you deserve. You'll probably need to change your name too, because it's taken (and I have no idea how two players can have the name name). As to your suggestion, it's rather interesting that you're offering suggestion of how we should run things before waiting to see how the game actually works. Please be paitent. Bio: Feylis comes from Bespin. Her father left the family when she was nine, and lost her older brother who she adored to the Kessel spice mines (he was caught smuggling an illegal drug). Her mother was forever at angry Feylis; blaming her for breaking up the family. When she reached the age of eighteen, she gladly left her troubled home to join the Academy. Graduating at the top of her class, she was soon put into a TIE-fighter squadron.

The first squadron she flew with was near decimated in a clash with the Rebellion, and she was one of the three pilots to survive. She learned that getting close to people was dangerous.

While in her second squadron, her suspicions that the Empire was not the glorious regime that the propaganda spoke of moved her to secede. With help from another Rebel sympathizer, she successfully contacted some Rebels who intiated her into the Rebel Alliance.

Death came to her in the battle against the Khass, and she lost two of her flight members. She came near to resigning from the Blades, but with some persuasion from Commander Caine, stayed.

 

So, uh, what's the character profile template? Can someone gimme it plz.

 

A note on choosing divisions: If you choose the Army, please specify if you'd like to join the standard military or the special forces units. And with regards to the Navy a specification between Fleet operations and Starfighter operations is also preferred.

Apart from that, please try not to use colours if you don't need to. Their intention is for use by GMs to allow players to easily pick out such posts if they are short for time

Admiral Hiram Drayson approached the human NRI agent. He did not smile, nor give any other visible expression of emotion. "Here are the details of your next assignment," Drayson said, as he handed a datacard toward Boc Nerranor. "You'll be heading into Imperial Territory."

The datacard read: Mission: Escort Mon Mothma to Coruscant aboard a separate vessel. Remain hidden from sight. Report her safe arrival and monitor her whereabouts at all times. Ensure that she returns alive.

When Boc Nerranor looked up, Drayson was gone. The Intelligence agent was alone in the corridor of a Mon Calamari Cruiser, free to head off on his next mission.

I merely do not wish to see anyone posting things that indicate their player is an ace pilot, or is the Admiral of a large fleet, etc. I think any skills along those lines should be earned.

Boc sighed in a mixed sort of way as he realized this was his first mission for the NRI. Admiral Drayson was kind of creepy, but then again, Boc remembered all high rankers were like that.

He walked out of the corridor, and back to his cramped quarters where he put together his mission plan in his head. It was an easy plan to put together. The mission itself was simple yet trying. All he had to do was escort who was perhaps the most high ranking official in the New Republic to Coruscant-simple, yet definitely a risk taker. Mon Mothma's ship could be ambushed...or so many other dreadful things could happen. And his mission was to prevent those things.

Boc definitely wasn't going to accomplish this mission without a little teamwork.... He decided he only needed one or two fellow agents. Now he had to recruit them...

Mon Calamari was such a beautiful planet. Unlike anything Isaar had ever seen before, even with all his traveling. He still felt strange about being part of the New Republic. For so long he had little knowledge and no participation in this part of the galaxy's affairs, and now he was almost in the middle of it. Very new to the job, and already on a mission. The New Republic surely did not have any problem putting agents to work immediately, and Isaar liked that. He had been ordered to contact Boc Nerranor about a mission he was to accompany him on. So he clicked on his comm, and sent a transmission introducing himself and stating his orders.

Boc recieved a transmission on his comm from a fellow agent named Isaar Vendesta. He sent back a transmission telling Isaar that he had gotten his transmission and the location of Boc's quarters. "Come on over within the hour," Boc requested.

Once he recieved the transmission, and the location of Boc's quarters, Isaar attached his lightsaber to it's hilt, and headed to the location. It did not take him long to get to Boc's quarters. He knocked on the door, eager to begin his first mission for the New Republic.
