Talos waited till the image of the Admiral faded and then he turned in his chair, releasing a trace amount of pheramones into the air to make things easier for the bridge crew, to loosen them a little.

Helm, retract all moorings and prepare to get underway,

    Navigator, set course for Recopia.
    Talos peeps the intercom

This is your Captain, it is an honor for me to speak to you today and to proceed ahead in defense of the Republic, I am honored to serve with you, I will do my best as I am sure you all will to attend to our mission and get back home to our families..mission details will be given to you by your various department heads...Talos out.

GRANDADMVARANII, I have a few things to point out. Firstly, it would be very helpful if you put quotation marks around your characters dialouge. It makes it easier to distinguish what you are saying and so on. I have asked you several times to look at other players for examples to model your posts on, yet you continue to post the same. Since you have not yet accomplished this yet, I will create an example for you to follow:

    IC: Commander Larimda K'Cin

    Space above Mon Calamari

Commander K'Cin recieved his orders. He was to take command of the cruiser Halo and proceed to the Druckenwell system to take up patrol on the world's main trade route. The increase in pirate activity was alarming, causing Fleet Command to dispatch a warship to protect shipping in the region.

The commander turned to his new first officer. "Clear all mooring and prepare the Haol for hyperspace. I want us underway within the hour."

The first officer nodded. "Aye sir, right away."

Less than an hour later, the Halo jumped to hyperspace, bound for Druckenwell.

    TAG: AdmiralNick22

Now, as you can see, this example is clear and easy to read. It distinguishes who is speaking what dialouge and makes clear the intention of the characters. Furthermore, the TAG at the end lets the GM know that the player is ready for a update. Without a TAG, I would have no idea if the player is in need to a update. Please take this advice to heart.

NOTE TO ALL PLAYERS: You may have noticed a slowed involvement on my behalf in the activitieis concerning the New Republic, especially from an IC perspective. In the event that you have not already guessed, the New Republic has been prepared much in the same way that the Galactic Empire had been. That is, the faction will be led primarily by sub-GMs. I have every faith and confidence in AdmiralNick22 and Ton_G to carry on with their efforts to ensure continued growth and prosperity within this faction. I'll still oversee any matters that concern relations with externalities, but all other matters concerning the New Republic alone will not likely receive my direct attention.

We will soon be out of your space for as long as you want it," Smith assured. He didn't really expect a response, and was thus not disappointed when no further contact came.

There was no interference from the strangers as Saviour Squadron continued about its business. The New Republic gathered what debris it could find, most of it small, or ruined beyond possible use, but still worth examining. They could only imagine their every movement was being monitored.

"Yes, they are." Espin Nom was slightly nervous he had to bring the Verpine into full membership with the Republic, or so his superiors had ordered him. "And it is of that I wish to speak. Until now, the Verpine have not had a formal Senate delegation, as not all of the colonies support the New Republic. Thus, I am proposing that we enter into talks to unite all of the Roche Colonies into an entity which would recieve full Republic Membership."

After the translation, the Verpine responded, his words relayed by the protocol droid Espin brought along. "What would the Senate offer us, that we do not already have?"

"The Senate is fickle. They can talk circles about nothing except that which concerens itself. That is not to say the Senate is bad. Rather, they are concerened about what exists within the realm of the senate. The extragalactic invasion is on our doorstep. If you want to have a say in how you are defended, you'll need to be present. Most Senators will aim to have secure defenses of their home planets even at the expense of important installations such as yours," Espin pleaded.

There was a deep silence from the Verpine, and then a brief response, which was promptly translated.

"If we are so valued by the New Republic, we will be protected by it, regardless of membership."

"Copy that Euphoria, knocking on your door now. There are other Jedi on the surface as well, might want to see if your contact can get them dressed up as well. We should have a few suits lying around groundside from memory."

Outer Edges of the Pakuuni System

No further contact came over the comm system and so Smith rolled his engines back to life, careful to do it so that he did not intrude any further in system.

?Alright, Flight One let?s get moving. Keep it slow; I want only to offer assistance to Blue Squadron. Don?t do anything that could cause a problem.?

The young commander listened as a few clicks were sounded over his comm as replies to his commands. The specially refitted snoopscoots went about their present business taking in data and gathering debris. Hopefully some of this stuff would amount to something.

?Rogue Leader, we?re finishing things up here. There?s no further communication from the residents of this space, whomever they are,? Smith said. ?Requesting that we move back as soon as we?re finished.?

?Savior Leader, this is Rogue Leader. All debris has been collected. All fighters are ordered to drop back to the Silent Water for immediate recovery. Once the fighters and the Swift have rendezvoused the cruiser, we will jump immediately back to Mon Calamari.?

The Swift powered up its bank of multiple engines, flying back towards the Silent Water. All the fighters that were part of its escort began to fall back as well. The mission was successful, although a bit surprising. The New Republic now had a large quantity of Yuuzhan Vong bio-tech debris to examine and study.

Kalio, this mission is over. Your next post may include both your return to the Silent Water and the return to Mon Calamari. You are going to be heading out from Mon Cal very soon, though your pilots don?t know it yet. Once at Mon Cal feel free to dock at a orbital fighter hangar. There your pilots will hear of the attack on Dellalt. Orders will follow after that. ;)

    Orbit, Corellia, Core Worlds

The new warships of the Corellian Defense Force slid out of the massive yards fo the Corellian Engineering Corporation. A joint venture between the Corellian government and the New Republic, these new warships were part of a permanent defense force for the world. It was under the jurisdiction of the Fourth Fleet, though it did have an autonomous command structure. It would give the valuable world added security, as well as allow the Fourth Fleet to be more mobile than it had in the past. Admiral Kil'Jaden was most pleased with the report.

    Planetary surface, M?haeli, Expansion Region

Located in the foothills of the snow capped mountains above the capital city of N?croth, the New Republic Academy possessed a commanding view of the city and valley below. Besides Mon Calamari, M?haeli was now one of the main campuses and training facilities for the officers and enlisted beings of the New Republic Defense Force. Fleet, Army, and Starfighter all kept campuses in the massive facility. The new Academy would serve as the main training center for a new generation of defenders for the New Republic. The new facility also boasted an impressive array of hidden defenses, including shields and various weapon systems. With several new army divisions and warships planned, the Academy would undoubtedly see a lot of use in the coming months.

Orbit, Bothawui, Bothan Space, Mid Rim

Four sleek Bothan Assault Cruisers slid out of the newly completed Bothawui shipyards. Each was christened after a animal native to the Bothan homeworld- Ral, Krak'jya, Myntor, Tal'cara. These four mighty warships were assigned to aid the Third Fleet with the protection of Bothan space. There was a great deal of pride felt by the Bothan people. The massive reconstruction efforts on their world undertaken by the New Republic were sucessful, returning the world to its former glory.

    Planetary surface, Malastare, Mid Rim

A massive research and science center was the completed project on Malastare. The Gran colony world was a staunch supporter of the New Republic, so its choice as a home for the newly christened Ithor Memorial Research Center came as no surprise. All data and material collected by the New Republic and its allies was analyzed and examined to learn as much about the new invaders as possible. The brightest scientific minds of the New Republic were gathered there. While only small amounts of debris had been collected thus far, the valuable information provided by the Jedi Order had given the scientists much to examine for the near future.

    IC: Minister Keelu Yeh

Republic Ministry of Commerce, Mon Calamari

?Thank you very much Chief Councilor Falken. Pass my gratitude on to the Sauvax representatives and inform them that the first shipment of advanced harvesting vessels from Mon Cal should arrive with thirty-six hours.?

With that, the comm line went quiet. Keelu Yeh had spent the better part of the last three hours talking on the HoloComm to representatives from the four worlds that just signed extensive trade agreements with the New Republic. News of the trade compacts signings brought much joy to the Quarren female, as well as word that the massive projects undertaken by the Chief of State and Defense Force were completed. As the top financial official in the New Republic, it fell to Minister Yeh to make sure that the credit coffers were never too low. In light of the recent membership of Vandelhelm and trade agreements signed with Leritor, Excarga, Umgul, and Bpfassh, the treasury was far more stable than it had been just a few weeks prior.

Suddenly the comm beeped again. The Quarren sighed. ?Who could it be now. I am not expecting a call from the Excargan ambassador for at least two more hours.?

The comm screen revealed the face of a male Mon Calamarian. A Mon Calamarian in the uniform of a fleet admiral.

?Greeting Minister Yeh. I trust you are not too busy at the moment??

Yeh nodded. ?I am never to busy to speak with you, Admiral Arboga. How have you been. I did not see you at the last meeting.?

The Mon Calamarian bobbed his large head. ?I have been spending the majority of my time in the War Room over in Fleet HQ. With so many engagements to follow, I find I have little free time at the moment.?

?I understand entirely. How goes things on the front?? said Minister Yeh.

Arboga kept a neutral expression on his face. ?Kegan is currently contested and Dellalt is under attack. The Yuuzhan Vong seem to be keeping up their pressure, especially since we have yet to hand them a significant defeat. I hope that if Admiral Rancis prevails at Kegan that we may slow their offensive for a bit.?

?I take it that you are speaking to me today in regards to the war?? said Yeh. It was an obvious answer, but the Quarren said it all the same.

The Supreme Commander nodded. ?In light of the fact that several new shipyards have been completed, I am preparing to order some new warships for the fleet. Yet, I felt compelled to check with you on the status of our funds before planning such an order.?

This served as no surprise to Yeh. Despite his military nature, Arboga had the mind of a architect or a city planner. He always made careful note of resources, distribution of assets, and other necessary things related to construction. Yeh suspected that Arboga was chosen to be Supreme Commander as much for his organizational skills as he was for his tactical and strategic prowess.

?Admiral, given the fact that we have just signed trade negotiations and finished the last round of projects, it is my opinion that the New Republic can afford a moderate sized ship order.?

Yeh suddenly became very serious. ?But make no mistake about it admiral. Large-scale fleet construction of dozens of ships simultaneously would prove very risky. I cannot stress the need for restraint in ordering warships. Build what is needed, but no more.?

To Yeh?s surprise, Arboga nodded in agreement. ?I could not agree with you more. I firmly believe that unlike the Empire that we only build the ships that we need for our defense, not excessive amounts to strike fear or keep out populace in line.? The admiral paused. ?That is not to say that some of my more aggressive commanders are not constantly pushing me to build large numbers of warships. Admiral Oktrem Thri?skra is a constant thorn in my side, pushing for more and more ships.?

?Well, admiral, it seems we are in agreement. I will give my support to Chief of State Belami for this construction order.?

Arboga smiled. ?Thank you minister, your support in t

?Savior Leader, this is Rogue Leader. All debris has been collected. All fighters are ordered to drop back to the Silent Water for immediate recovery. Once the fighters and the Swift have rendezvoused the cruiser, we will jump immediately back to Mon Calamari.?

?I copy, sir. Heading back now for rendevous at Silent Water,? replied the young commander.

He switched the comm system over to the Savior Squadron channel with a brown-gloved hand.

?Saviors, form-up. Mission complete. Good work everyone.?

?Complete? What?d we do?? asked Stephen Kay.

?Come now, it was a good first flight. I seriously doubt that our next assignment will be as easily dealt with.?

The Swift powered up its bank of multiple engines, flying back towards the Silent Water. All the fighters that were part of its escort began to fall back as well. The mission was successful, although a bit surprising. The New Republic now had a large quantity of Yuuzhan Vong bio-tech debris to examine and study. They also had an entity out here that was generally unknown about. They offered no identification, just the ultimatium.

Interesting that we wouldn?t even know who to stay away from. I hope that our next meeting with this organization goes better than our first.

Smith kept First Flight out of the hangar of their Republic carrier ship, Silent Water, until the rest of Savior Squadron had flown in. His squadron had held up well, even though there wasn?t much to do they had showed themselves attentive and prepared for action if it came to that.

Finally as the last of the ships flew into the hangar bay, Smith ordered his flight to follow the direction of the dock master that was directing the traffic inside the hangar.

Even as his starfighter was landing the tanned-skinned commander could feel the massive ship lurching into hyperspace. It was a quick mission, but had given them a lesson anyway.

Smith opened his hatch and started to climb down the ladder that was placed next to his ship.

    Later?

?We?re coming into orbit around Mon Calamari, sir. Do you think we?ll be staying here long?? asked the Twi-lek, Thyme Zen from across the table in the ship?s galley. They all held a cup a café.

?I don?t know. Before we left for the mission I had heard that Kegan had been attacked and there were relief forces going out to assist. With such an enemy, I?d hope that the Yuuzahn Vong forces were destroyed with minimal losses but that hasn?t been their way as of yet. If it fell, we may find ourselves out there or any number of places really.?

Smith sat back and sipped in a mouthful of the hot drink. It burned his throat slightly as it passed down the back of his mouth. It was just as hot as he liked it. Around him sat the entire Squadron, still in their flight suits.

[All hands, we are initiating docking procedures with the North side docking hangar. All fighter report the hangar bay.]

?Well, I guess that?s our cue to leave friends,? Smith said smiling. He downed the last of his steaming liquid and stood with a clank on the metal floor, followed by his squadronmates.

They passed through the halls a team of rookies. Some with exceptionall skills, other with average abilities. Regardless of their individual talents, it was the team that mattered for it was the team that survives, not the ones in it. Such is the fact of the Navy.

I just hope that there are fewer losses for this squadron.

Just then, as they passed through the door entering into the hangar a young man came running across the bay, followed by another. The first brushed past him; while Rahn?s muscular arms stopped the other.

    ?Hey, bud. What?s the rush??

The young man couldn?t be more than 16 years old himself. He swallowed hard under the short man?s gaze.

?The Captain?uh,? he paused looking at everyone. ?We?ve been hit again, sir.?

    This caught Smith

    Colonel Cotalcatal

The colonel returned the saluted mockingly. "Kid officers. Sit down.", he said this and turned to light a large cigar, replacing the stylus in his mouth. "Captain Alexis Kelrain.", he leaned back in his chair, "How are the SpecForces treating you?". He didn't wait for an answer, "No that's irrelevant. How are your exercises with the SpecForces doing?".

The brash colonel, behind his uniquely gruff Omwatti extrior was judging each of his officers. He would see them now, and he would see them after battle. It was mathematical. He would sort the good from the terrible. The skillful from the worthless. He had no time for fools in his army.

    Commander Azkazz Bothawui

He wore civilian clothes, a green jacket, black slacks and shades. No blaster at his side. Azkazz was the proverbial whaladon in the desert. His one comfort fit snugly
on his feet. ?Well, at least I have my boots.?, he commented to himself as he watched the sun dance on their polished surface.

A second relief soon followed, the sight of the Tourist Center crossed over the horizon. Soon, Azkazz would be free of his seat. It was obviously shaped to accommodate a wide variety of beings except, perhaps, humans of average height.

The discomfort of the odd seat was relieved a short while after when the transport smoothly decelerated to a halt. Azkazz grabbed his one piece of luggage, a backpack from below his seat, as quickly as possible, to avoid the cramped exit.

Stepping out from the transport revealed a pleasant sight, a stone courtyard dotted with trees and fountains. The buildings were impressive, near white and appeared to be solid stone; their architecture was equally impressive, with sweeping arches and open balconies. The entire scene was washed with golden sunlight and warm wind. Away from the Tourist Center, an open grassland stretched across the horizon.

Azkazz smiled, ?This is better than being stuck on the Ciant, I should let myself out more often than I do.?, the clean air filled his lungs. This was good.

A number of uniformed people came to greet the arriving tourists. Simple grey and green uniforms, and smiled which seemed suspect to the commander. Among the greeters were Humans, Mon Calamari, Ishi Tib, Wookies, Duros. ?Where are the Bothans? Always the politicians. Greeting us with our own.?, Azkazz turned to the portly couple to his right, ?This is Bothawui, isn?t it??

?What?? and ?Huh??, were their respective replies, in nasal voices. They ignored Azkazz, the joke had escaped them and continued to move on.

?Well. I see I am in excellent company.?, he laughed sarcastically to himself. He proceeded to avoid the greeters and attempt to find the main desk. He strategically moved behind fountains and trees, staying out of the eyes of the forcefully cheerful staff.

The great stone buildings stood at least fifty feet tall, and formed a veritable wall in the form of a semi-cricle around the courtyard. The lowest level on each building was open, only beautifully carved arches formed a devide from the courtyard. Azkazz entered the closest building.

Its interior was carved just as the exterior, grandiose and meticulously crafted. Azkazz stared in awe. ?To think I grew up in a place like this. I do miss it.?, the grace, strength and majesty appealed to Azkazz? sensibilities, and his dreams.

The ceiling stood twenty feet above at the lowest and became an open atrium in the center, formed by arches and embellished with bas reliefs depicting Bothan history. Eight massive comlums supported the building, equally decorative as they were structurally essential. Azkazz was in awe.

?May I help you, sir??, a Bothan from one of the desks lining the circumference of the grand structure.

?One moment crewman.?, he replied by habit to the unfamiliar voice. 1The commander was transfixed. His eyes absorbed the majesty, and his ears drank in the luscious acoustics his footsteps produced.

?Crewman??, the responded, politely, albeit confused.

Azkazz descended to the immediate, ?Sorry. Yes, you may help me.?, he approached the Bothan attendant, ?An actual Bothan. By the Force, this place is amazing.A minor beauraucrat, not surprising. I hope this site is just a taste. Yes I?m looking to register with the ?Bothawui: Historic and Scenic Views? tour.?. Azkazz? face was beaming, joy was not something that he exuded often, if ever.

?Excellent.?, the Bothan?s beige fur rippled with delight, ?Your not here for Ak-Kabo?s Quartet, you are actually interested in seeing Bothawui. Everyone else this week has been to see Ak-Kabo?s Qaurtet.?, th

    IC as Captain Alexis Kelrain
New Republic Army Base 10-01-A, Mon Eron

The captain took at seat in front of the colonel?s desk, the hard metal of the armrests cold beneath her palm. She found it intriguing how most of the objects in the army reflected the army officers themselves; cold, hard, distant, and seemingly uncaring. She sometimes questioned her decision to sign up with the army, but she knew that, deep inside, this was what she wanted to do.

"How are the SpecForces treating you? No that's irrelevant. How are your exercises with the SpecForces doing?"

The gruff texture of Colonel Cotalcatal?s voice was not unfamiliar to her. Most of the other officers that she had served under were no different, save a few. She thought for a moment, knowing that, like everywhere else in the military, the answer that she gave could either make her, or break her.

?Well sir, the training is going well. The recruits have proved to be excellent in both discipline and skill. We have completed SpecForces basic training quite some time ago and have moved on to simulator exercises. The other instructors have agreed that this batch is progressing excellently. The few Force-users in the squad have been receiving training to keep their skills sharp, but the other recruits have not been neglected either.?

She kept body posture was straight as she waited for the colonel?s response. Inside she was nervous, but none of that was reflected in her expression.

IC: Recopia, New Republic member world

    Planetary surface, Recopia, Core Worlds

The New Republic made good on its word to assist Recopia as it joined the growing galactic government. Convoys of ships from Corellia arrived daily, delivering recently purchased goods and some donated equipment from New Republic memberworlds. Teams of New Republic technicians worked alongside local Recopian engineers in setting up a series of new facilities. Hangar facilities were erected on Scapio and other major cities, home to several squadrons of New Republic fighters. Newly comissioned Army divisions from the training grounds on Malastare arrived as well, moving into bases around the planet.

While the New Republic military began setting up localized shield generators and ground based weapons, the most exciting thing from the prespective of the Recopians was the increase in trade. Within days of signing the Articles of Membership, traders from dozens of Republic worlds arrived. The amount was so great that temporary landing ports were set up to handle the increased traffic. Locals were able to sell their goods on the open galactic market for the first time.

A few warships from the Fourth Fleet took up station in the system as well. With the increase in trade came the risk of increased piracy. These warships would see to it that trade was uninterupted.

    Commodore Hirikantu

    "0600 Hours", the chrono beeped.

"0600 Hours", the chrono beeped again.

"0601 Hours", the chrono beeped a third time.

"Grm, sithspit." Bang. The chrono didn't beep again.

"Computer... time.", the commodore grumbled, laying on his bed, still wearing his formal uniform.

"Time is 0602 Hours, commodore.", an androgynous voice responded.

This did not suit Hirikantu at all. Nor do it soothe his quasar sized headache. To resolve the situation he played a card from 'Tactics 404', "Computer alter time, 0402 hours. Authorization Alpha-Alpha-Nine-One-Corellia-Tau-Hirikantu."

Two hours later Commodore Hirikantu arrived on the bridge, looking as trim and disciplined as always. The commander of the night watch stood at attention, and the rest of the bridge crew followed his lead.

"Sir, we have yet to be relieved, the morning watch did not report. The chrono is out of synch.", the green Lieutenant Commander had had a series of quick promotion. He was intelligent and naive.

"How unfortunate.", the commodore created sharade of pity. He glanced down at his chrono. "Computer, alter time, 0802 hours. Authorization Alpha-Alpha-Nine-One-Corellia-Tau-Hirikantu."

    "Acknowledged." the adrogynous voice responded.

"There we go commander. I hope this doesn't occur again. At least not too soon.", Hirikantu enjoyed playing jokes on rookies in the command chair.

"A-agreed, sir.", he no choice but to answer this way.

Hirikantu dismissed the officer and the rest of the night watch when the rest of bridge crew arrived. He setteled into his command chair. His head was still throbing when a signal came from Mon Calamari. He immedeately sat up stright. It was a priority one message.

"Commodore Hirikantu", the blue spectre of a Headquarters Communications Department officer appeared and began to speak with urgency behind a calmly paced voice, "Kegan has is under a counterattack by our forces. Be prepared for a reaction by other Vong forces."

"Understood.", Hirikantu nodded and interupted. "We'll prepare for any call."

The hologram continued to explain that all relavant data would was being transmitted. As per usual, the commodore ensured the conversation was short. The hologram faded. Now he would soon be tested against these Vong. "I can ponder my ability later. Logistics first.", he reminded himself, allowing him to stand up. His headaches was now all but gone.

"Communications, open a channel to the Centares government.", he paused to form the message, surprisingly Halavant answered a few mintues later. "First Consul, you'll have to accept my apology."

    "For what?" Halavant chuckled.

"We may be called into service soon. I don't know when, but it quite possible."

Halavant was now serious, he didn't hesitate to give his best, "Inform me when you learn any more."

"Aye to that. Hirikantu out.", he brushed his hand through his thick black and graying hair.
"Open a general speaker channel to all Task Force vessels and issue a general battle alert."

A klaxon began to blare on evry vessel, leaving no one asleep. Soon, the voice of Commodore Hirikantu followed. "Good morning. This is the commodore. Kegan is under attack from a New Republic, and Yuuzhan Vong activity is up. We have been called to prepare for possible attacks on nearby worlds. All crews to emegency stations. This is not a drill. I expect the best from all of you. Begin preperations for battle"

    Near remains of Vanguard Station

Scalawag Wing scattered ahead of the Dauntless, fanning out with flights of E-wings covering elements of B-wings. The Star Cruiser's two Mu-class shuttles moved in behind them, sensor systems scanning for intact sections of the station, escape pods, EV pilots - anyone who might have survived the onslaught.

Kynt twitched the stick to swerve his fighter around an S-foil floating through space. The X-wings and A-wings gurading the sttion had been slaughtered to the last, with twenty-four "dead beacons" chirping out amidst the debris field. A spaced R5 unit with a half-slagged head tumbled next to a cold orange-suited body just off his port wing. Kynt shuddered. He'd flown to the too-late rescue of the bulk cruiser Stanchion three years ago, after she'd been ambushed by an ISD. The ship and her fighter wing had been reduced to space debris, with no survivors. From the looks of it, Vanguard's defenders had only killed three TIE fighters in exchange for their losses. That in itself indicated something was funny. Even heavily outnumbered and outflown, one would expect the better-shielded and better-armed Republic fighters to have at least extracted a bloodprice equivalent to their own losses.

Kynt had a bad feeling about this.

"Dauntless, this is Scalawag Lead. So fr it looks like a total massacre."

"Keep looking, Lead. If nothing else somebody could tell us what the kriff happened here."

Even though Admiral Drayson was largely independent of the New Republic and its military, Alpha Blue did fall beneath the same banner as the rest of the government's groups. Having been set up to serve the Chief of State, specialising in fleet and military intelligence, Alpha Blue was among the most secretive, respected and capable agencies within the ranks and many divisions of the New Republic.

When word was received from Admiral Tokmek Arboga concerning a War Room meeting regarding the Yuuzhan Vong incursion it was deemed appropriate to send an envoy. As per usual, there was no mention of Drayson himself, or the Director's whereabouts. It seemed that no one had seen or heard from him. For all anyone guessed, the man could have died or disappeared and left Alpha Blue to continue on its own. The group was certainly capable and trained to do so.

An agent arrived at the War Room not more than a few minutes after the meeting unofficially began. Having come before the set time, the agent knew that he was not late, and made no apologies. He simply identified the group he worked for and entered without unnecessary chatter. As with any such meeting, the agent was curious as to how much, or perhaps more accurately how little, the rest of the New Republic knew.

Admiral Arboga walked over to the Alpha Blue agent and greeted him with a nod. The Supreme Commander had learned long ago that the members of Alpha Blue were not the types to offer a swift salute or kind word of greeting, even to the Supreme Commander.

Wasting no time, the admiral waved one of his large webbed hands towards the holoprojector, which displayed the current progress of the war.

"I have Kegan under contestion and Dellalt has just fallen under attack. The efforts of NRI and Fleet Intel have so far provided me with little in the ways of the disposition and size of the enemy forces. Furthermore, while we estimate that their goal is Mon Cal, even that is unknown."

The admiral paused for a moment.

"Any intel that your organization has currently would be much appreciated."

Nodding with brisk understanding, the agent stepped forward. He was pleased with the Supreme Commander's attention to the situation at hand, and while there was a time and place for pleasantires, that time was not now, not within the war room of the galactic government. Time was best spent saving lives.

"It has proven difficult for Alpha Blue to determine the strength and composition of the Yuuzhan Vong also," the agent admitted, knowing that NRI and Fleet intel had done all that was possible given the circumstances. "These invaders hold their systems strong and destroy scouts at the first sign of their presence."

He gestured toward the holo, as he added, "What little we learn often comes after they have already struck." The agent indicated Dellalt and the Tion Cluster. "Chandaar and Jaminere have also fallen. Any attempts to probe those systems has brought destruction and lost assets. We expect the entire Tion Cluster to be overrun."

Knowing that he delivered ill tidings did not prevent him from revealing the full gravity of the situation at hand. He turned away from the holo to meet the Supreme Commander's direct gaze. "There has been no communication from either Junction or Bandomeer, with confirmation that both Gala and Phindar have fallen to the Yuuzhan Vong." He hesitated. "One of our scouts intercepted a transmission from Yavin Four, a distress call. It, too, has been conquered."

The Mon Calamarian nodded as the Alpha Blue agent identified recent conquests by the Yuuzhan Vong. Some came as no suprise to the Supreme Commander, though he did note that the Vong seemed to be moving into Imperial space once again as well.

When the agent finished, Admiral Arboga pointed to a region on the edge of the galaxy, near the Tingel Arm.

"What news do you have from the Corporate Sector. Chief Belami informed me that contact with their government is proving difficult. Her last message from informed us that they were withdrawing mcuh of their financial support to deal with the Vong."

Arboga let out a sigh. "Can you shed any light on this situation for me?"

Frowning slightly, the agent shook his head. His expression was not one of disappointment, but rather confusion. "Perhaps," he said slowly. His eyes narrowed slightly and his brow furrowed. "Soon after we first learned of the Yuuzhan Vong incursion, our assets in that region of space confirmed the presence of the Yuuzhan Vong. And, while we have lost those assets we still have not been able to confirm whether or not any of the worlds within the Corporate Sector actually fell."

Lifting his head slightly as he stepped away from the Supreme Commander and closer to the holo, the agent considered what the information might mean. "The entire Sector might already been conquered, or perhaps the CSA has had greater success than we in warding off the invaders." He shrugged ever so slightly, his first sign of uncertainty since entering the meeting.

"I fear that it is more likely that the entire sector fell. Given the fact that the Corporate Sector is nearest to the inital Vong invasion point, they probably have sustained even heavier attacks than we have."

Admiral Arboga frowned. The Corporate Sector had done much to help finance many of the New Republic's recent acchievements. Yet being so far behind enemy lines made it impossible to send a force to assist them.

"Well, thank you for your time agent. Tell your superiors that I appreciate their information."

A transmission intruded while the war room was amid its usual buzz of activity. The messagr bore the insignia of New Republic Intellignce. The inignia faded to reveal ranking intelligence operative clothed in the standard black garb. "The Director of New Republic Intelligence, Giar Fythe.", the officer introduced the director and the middle aged Zabrak took his place.

"To the Offices of the Chief of State and Supreme Commander. As of six ,inutes ago, a NRI Ferret stationed at Dellalt detected a Yuuzhan Vong incursion. Upon closing in for reconaissance the vessel was destroyed by a handfull of Coralskippers.", he pasued to allow the information to sink in.

"It seems we have a very dangerous situation on our hands. We will continue to provide any information that surfaces. May the Force be with you. Director Fythe, out."

And with that, the hologram vanished.

Nodding once, and offering a word of farewell, the agent from Alpha Blue departed. As he left the room his thoughts drifted to the trouble that brewed within the Corporate Sector and he wondered why communication had ceased. No doubt the invaders sought to sever the networks between worlds and territories in an effort to weaken their opposition. There had to be a way to stop them.

War Room, NR Fleet HQ, Mon Calamari

After the meeting with the Alpha Blue agent, Admiral Arboga left the War Room and headed top side. Exiting the massive structure the housed the headquarters of the New Republic Defense Force, the admiral had to hold a hand up over his massive eyes to shield them from the sun. Having spent the past several days down in the dark bunker-like War Room, his eyes needed a moment to adjust to the light.

After recieving the holo-message from Director Fythe of New Republic Intelligence, Chief of State Jenica Belami called for a top-level meeting of many of the New Republic's leaders. As Supreme Commander of the Republic's military forces, Arboga was a essential part of the High Command.

A hovercar pulled up in front of the headquarters. A aide exited the front seat and opened a door for the admiral. Upon entering the hovercar, the admiral saw a Bothan male in the uniform of a New Republic admiral.

Offering a salute and a smile, the Bothan waited for the admiral to take his seat in the hovercar.

"Hello Oktrem, I trust all was well on Bothawui?"

Vice-Admiral Oktrem Thri'skra nodded. "Yes admiral, they were. Those four new Assault Cruisers are real beauties. I am still holding out hope that you assign me one for my flagship."

Vice-Admiral Thri'skra had been assigned to Bothawui ever since the reconstruction efforts undertaken by the New Republic government were commenced on the world. A career military officer who had trained at both the Bothan Military Academy and the New Republic's Fleet Academy, the ambitious officer was one of the most agressive commanders in the fleet.

Arboga chuckled. "Those cruisers will be staying at Bothawui for the time being, at least until I can transfer some other warships there to take their place. The last thing I would want to do is start pulling warships away from Bothan Space for fear of inviting someone to attack and damage all the good work we have just finished there."

The Thri'skra's fur rippled in a Bothan gesture of disappointment. "After all the work I put into helping the get those ships funded and constructed, I figured the least Fleet Command could do was assign me one for my personal ship."

"This is not the time or the place for this discussion Oktrem", said Arboga. His voice suddenly grew very serious. "We have bigger things to worry about than choosing your flagship. Do I make myself clear?"

The Bothan nodded. "Crystal sir. Consider the subject dropped."

"Good, cause we have much ahead of us. Once we arrive at the Executive Building, we will meet up with General Lowell and Admiral Taylor. The Chief of State will need our input and advice during this meeting of the High Command. With the Yuuzhan Vong rolling towards Mon Cal, we need to do something beforewe find outselves kicked out of another captial."
