interesting so it might mean that maybe Ren is sent by Uber (who wants her???), after finally finding her location which is obviously the desert planet. It could explain why Ren is on the desert planet and burning villages.

 

It's quite obvious that the villains are interested in her. Don't forget the cyborg embrace, lol.

 

not just the cyborg embrace, there is also the fact that at some point (snow duel) they capture her (rather than kill her), so it does tell you that they have an interest in her.

If what Kyle is saying has any shred of truth then it makes for a very messy can of worms;

Rey is a half-trained Jedi who has been hiding on Tatooine for the last ten years.
Finn is a Force sensitive deserter who flees from the military on Tatooine.
Luke's (Rey's old master) lightsabre happens to fall from the sky over Tatooine.
Poe is an X-Wing pilot who just happens to get captured on Tatooine.
The Falcon just happens to get involved in a skirmish over Tatooine.
BB-8 is Rey's droid and has a special secret compartment for hiding Luke's lightsabre just in case it happens to fall from the sky one day.

Or how about Rey and Finn are both (not fully trained) Jedi on a mission together which somehow involves Luke's lightsabre which is being smuggled in BB-8? Seems to me like if they were working for the Rebel Alliance then Poe and the Falcon being involved would be less of a coincidence as well.

I don't they want to kill her, so there is that.

 

I think the most obvious answer regarding why people are after her is that they want to find out where Luke is, no?

 

Not sure about that, some rumors point to Luke's location as being unknown and others as him being a prisoner.

 

Or Finn is part of a landing party looking for "the one," AKA Rey, in the village they torch. Finn deserts and perhaps Rey witnesses this. Wanting to learn why they attacked, she could help him escape.

• Poe could be part of a rebel force attacking the ship that sent the landing party. Rey breaking an enemy of her enemies out along with Finn is a credible development.
• If Han knew Rey's connection to Luke he could be keeping an eye on her. Maybe the Falcon is there in response to the attack.
• If she is partially trained by Luke, then having the foresight and resources to build a secret compartment for a lightsaber seems reasonable.

I'm not saying I believe this is how things will turn out. I am saying that the few scant details given are not irreconcilable or beyond the suspension of disbelief.

 

or maybe it's the reversal of IV,
Kylo Ren, Finn,the lightsaber and other villains are going to the desert planet to find Rey, Han and Poe are on their trail and at some point engage the enemy (which is how Poe gets captured), and Finn deserts during/after the massacre.

 

I suppose my point was that as more and more believable or logical rumours surface with regards to characters motivations and backstories the elements of coincidence bringing the characters together diminish.

 

I think Kyle (from Cantina) has the best intentions. As to whether his sources do.....???? Domnhall Gleeson as Han and Leia's son? That's not just a yes or no answer. That's serious trolling. Again, not on Kyle's part. But his "sources."

 

Luke's lightsaber falling from the sky sounds like something somebody just made up. It makes no sense at all.

Also you'd think that Han and Leia would have a better idea about where Luke might be, if he is even truly in hiding. We know nothing about Rey, so she may not even really know Luke outside of basic details (like anyone else in the galaxy).

 

I was expecting this to be true but, if she ends up being an orphan, how do we know the new chosen one is her and not Finn?
