My son, just finish ROTS this past weekend. He enjoyed every minute of reading the book.
Tone...If he would like some other SW books I would be happy to share.
TL: glad to hear that the non-reading gene didn't pass to your offspring.
JMD...How is Labrynth of Evil coming, I would like to read it again before our first official gathering. However I can search for it at the Library or hang out at Borders for lunch and read it then. Let me know what works for you.
I'll finish it up and get it to you next week.
You can read that whole book in one lunch break. That is impressive.
If he can't get it to you, I can give you X's. hehe
So do we have a specific date/time place?
Place: Wings Etc. on Ireland
Date: Tuesday, June 28th
People: VIO, JMD, X-man
see you all tomorrow, all are welcome
Mmm bar-b-que goodness.
VIO and I met for lunch and had a good time. Discussed this month's book, "Labyrinth of Evil", other books, movies, collecting, and other various items.
Next meeting will be on July 26th. The next book up is the novelization of "Revenge of the Sith."
Good time, nice to review a SW book and get wings. Next meeting the last Tuesday of the month of July. Hopefully others can attend.
Crap sorry guys! My work had a barbeque and I completely forgot
Next time, Gadget!
For next month's meeting we are reading the novelization of "Revenge of the Sith." Get your copy today!
Remember the next bookclub meeting is at noon on Tuesday July 26th at an undetermined restraunt. Last month was at 'Wings' which is fine by me but I am flexible.
The book is Revenge of the Sith
Come early come often, not really
The second meeting is July 26th at Macri's next to Applebee's in Mishawaka at noon. The book is Revenge of the Sith. If the meeting place needs to be changed to help accomadate someone's work schedule we can make it happen.
I'll have to sit this one out because I don't have the book. Next month!
Hey Mav, any recommendations on next months book, I was going to go old school with "Truce at Bakara" and maybe lead into NJO series or maybe rehash a classic with Shadows of the Empire.
Okay once again Book Club meeting tomorrow, noon, July 26, Macri's over by grape road. Be there of be square. Also if anyone has a recomendation for next months book please give recommendation
I have a recommendation, how about moving this to nights so others (me) can join the fun or you guys could come over to LaPorte . I am about half way through ROTS, how far did you make it VIO?
currently, I am reading,
The New Jedi Order
Agents of Chaos I
with titles that long,
I had to take a rest before I actually started reading
Yeah, I actually had to take a break reading your post.
Well JMD and myself met on July 26th and reviewed ROTS. A good time was had and time and date has been set for the next meeting. We agreed on book one of the x-wing series. We have decided to go more old school so that if people did not have the book than they could get one for cheap in paperback. The date is on Tuesday August 30th. I would be agreeable to moving to a dinner meeting if more people were for sures on coming.
I enjoyed ROTS, there were parts that was informative like how it explains why Anakin cries like a baby when they don't grant him the title of "Master" when they appoint him to the council. On the other hand it just completly leaves out parts, an example would be when the Clones turn on the Jedi and there is nothing about Yoda execept when he is already in the escape pod.
Still a great book.
Actually the first half to two thirds were great but when it got down to crunch time much like the movie the book seemed to throw it all together in a mad dash frenzy. I really loved how the author described what Obi-Wan was thinking and using the force when he and Anakin were on the Bridge of Grievious ship. However, I would have loved that detail in the hunting down of the Jedi or Yoda's feelings on the return of the Sith.
When is the next meeting? What is the next book? I work on the north side of town now, btw.
