It started as a joke on the other page, but then I spoke with various mods about it and in the end I decided to close this game for real.

The reason is simple, WNU is for welcoming people, helping them with every question they have and maybe a bit chatting, so they have an easier start when they look into the other boards. A game isn't really necessary for this purpose.

In addition we have too many VIPs (game hosts and game winners) around as well. The older ones will remember that we had this case a few years ago and at that time it was decided to reduce the amount VIPs. IIRC that was the reason why the former coordinator of adoptions lost his colors. The reason for this decision at that time was that (new) user should recognise mods faster and don't mistake a host or winner as a mod.

Of course I've spoken to Gangrenous to get his feedback as well. He didn't like this idea and brought up some reasons why it should stay, but none of them was could overrule the main reasons I mentioned above.

Since he loved this game, I offered him to restart at another board, but he refused, since he thinks that it belongs to WNU. It's his decision and I think we should respect this.

I know some of you might be sad, but I hope you all understand the reasons. If you want to say anything, you're welcome to use this thread.

This game ends now!


So there's one thing left I can do now... I'll give Gangrenous colors for a week as a big 'thank you' for all the work he put into this game!

April Fool! Or like we say in German: April, April!

When I had posted the post above, I thought it won't last more than a few hours and that one discovers it as an April Fools Day joke sooner than later, since this way of acting and sudden close is completely uncommon. Sorry to those who I have really upset.


So I think there's one more question left: When can I close this thread for really real? You know there won't be a new game without a new teh mole thread.
