Oh, I didn't know! What does being a Crimson Jedi consist of exactly? I might be interested.

 

Confusion, which is one of the foundational principles, here.

Yeah, back in 2004, I thought the Imperial Guard was the coolest on account of I had just read(/was reading) a bunch of Crimson Empire stuff. I thought one of their alias's was the Crimson Guard, which it isn't (Imperial Guard/Imperial Royal Guard/Emperor's Royal Guard), but lol.

The idea, though, comes from Kir Kanos and his sense of honor, ironically, as he personally served the evil emperor. Growing up, I always thought the bad guys tended to, for whatever reason, come across as much cooler than the good guys, generally: Boba Fett, Darth Vader, etc. etc., as many do, but my heart is with the good guys! So, given the Crimson Empire/CEII series, with how much they made the royal guard EPICLY AWESOME:



And not just the look, but designating them as an elite fighting force [here's the wookiepeedia article on the guard and crimson empire and kir kanos]. So, I imagined a guy like Kanos as a jedi: the best of both worlds. Not necessarily an imperial guardsman who was a jedi, but certainly similarly fashioned.

[and, for the record, I wasn't too far off as the Galactic Empire version was called the Red Guard, apparently.... ]

So, yeah, the idea is Jedi who have commando and elite fighting force training (beyond that of the jedi arts- more traditional military and hand-to-hand fighting and tactics), set apart and united under a common banner, with a super-cool color incorporated into their uniforms, mythos, and ethos, and ready and willing to do the really difficult missions. The Jedi that are willing to get their hands dirty but stay pure (so, it's not a dark jedi thing) and true to the Jedi way.

They're like Jedi Batmans.

 

Wait a second. I thought Boba Fett was a good guy. That's what I tell my son anyway.

as to Boba turning goof: did he? I guess in the EU? I've only read the book or two after he escapes the sarlacc pit.

But basically, it's very hands-off and voluntary. You can't advance if you don't do the missions, which are weekly (or more) posted here, on the offsite, and in my sig. We have boards missions and IRL missions. And you just kick it here etc.
