The Offical Gamecube Discussion Thread

This is the ony plce to discuss ANYTHING Gamecube related.
Note to people who DON'T like the Gamecube: Please don;t post anything bad about the gamecube. I started up a poll eralier asking peoples opinion. It turned into a anti-console war.

So, anyone who has, or will be getting a Gamecube... POST HERE.

Note: I looked back 5 pages and this wasen't anywhere.

 

I have it and have not found anything to complain about or be sorry I didn't pay a hundred dollars more yet.

The three games I got:
Super monkey ball
Luigi's Mansion
and ofcourse Rogue Squadron
are very much fun, and again haven't found anything really huge to complain about (The little complaints are like how am I supposed to get past this level in Rogue Squadron with only 3 lives, but they should be solved with time and practice.)

I love the controller, it's very ergonomic and functional.

 

I'll be getting Super Smash Bros Melee tomorrow. IGN gave it a 9.6!

I got it on the release day with Rogue Leader and love it. I'll be getting Smash Bros. and Simpsons Road Rage soon. So far the system is great. I love the design. It doesn't take up space among my other systems and the controller is probably one of the better Nintendo controllers in a long time.
I've played Wave Race and thought about picking it up. Anyone got any input on that one?

 

I was gonna get wave race. I think I will get it later.

 

I'll have to wait until Christmas to get my own GameCube. However my friend has one and I've played his. I've started my own file on his Rogue Leader, but haven't had much time to play it. As a result of this I'm only to the Cloud City level and only have a couple of silvers and maybe 4 or 5 bronzes.

 

Get PS2 =] MGS2 and FF series owns all.

 

The games I have, Luigi's Mansion, Madden 2002, and (well, DUH!) Rouge Leader. (STRIKE AT THE CORE IS IMMPOSSABILEEEE!)

Same here have to wait till christmas or even more later.

I went to Electronic Boutique and they had GC set up with RL on it, but bad luck for me, a stupid little kid was playing for hours so I decided to come home.

RL is going to rock, I just picked up the demo for GC to see all the Features, Games etc. about GC.

IMMPOSSABILEEEE, is spelled wrong because i wanted it to be.

 

Obi-Wan playing mgs2 is much more amazing then the add. The adds and commercials make it look horrid. It's rather sick once you're actually controlling snake.

 

Picked up Luigi's Mansion and SSB: Melee yesterday. I like how they have the levels based on different games in the Adventure mode.

 

SSBM is a great game. So far I have Jiigelypuff, Mewtoo, Luigi, Young Link, and Dr. Mario secret characters. fun game.

 

I just unlocked the Tie on RL today.

Yeah gamecube is looking cool , but im sticking with my ps2.... i have beaten MGS2 it is amazing , trust me :NOTHING,and i mean NOTHING can compare on how brilliant it is , for at least the next year as far as i see it

gamecubes rouge squadron is pretty sweet

 

i'll get one, in march, when its released in nz, at least by then they will have a good selection of games too

 

I have Rogue Leader, Smash bros, and Waverace.

Rogue kicks total butt.

I don't really understand what is going on/how to control the character in Smash Bros.

Waverace looks awesome but so far it seems like it is just a quick rehash of the one for N64. I really wish they would have gone more in depth, letting you modify your Jet Ski, win money, etc. Like some of the sweet snowmobile games for PS.

 

MGS2 was cool, but DarthSmoke, when you and I beat that game, I seem to remember you wanting to hang yourself due to the long drawn out story.

I've only got Rogue Leader, but frankly it's all I need right now. The game is amazing.

What games are people looking forward too?

Personally, I've heard lots of good things about the game called "Eternal Darkness" and I also think the Resident Evil series for Gamecube is going to be awesome.

 

All I have for the GCN is Rogue Leader, SSB: Melee, and Luigi's Mansion. I'm looking forward to the RE series, Turok and Metroid.
