Yeah, my audience was pretty excited too. I didn’t see the twist happening first time around. Luke was one strong badass when it came to the Force. I’d like to see Kylo try that.

Im not sure which i like best, Yoda/Luke or Throne room battle....They are top for what they represent...one is the lore and the other is the excitement.

I NEED the blu ray so i can watch it forward, reverse, and slow mo :D

The Rey reveal adds some extra weight to how she was swept into this saga in the first place now.

I liked how Luke realised that the legend of Luke Skywalker rather than the flesh and blood Luke Skywalker was the new hope for the galaxy. In universe and in real life, Luke had been regarded as some sort of superman. If he had genuinely walked out to face the walkers on Crait, he'd have been pulverised. The burden of being the legendary Luke Skywalker drove him into exile, but it was exactly that legend which he used to the Resistance's advantage.

Absolutely loved the film. Its had such an impression on me that I've actually signed up to a SW forum for the first time ever. Here are my faves:

    1) All the Rey and Kylo force bond moments were mesmerising. The Throne room sequence is one of my favourite SW scenes ever. Adam and Daisy have excellent chemistry.

    2) All of Luke. Luke's portrayal in the film was so real and human, he had a brilliant arc and an excellent send-off. TLJ humanised him in such a way that I felt invested in his character. Best Hamill performance. Crait and his death were particular highlights.

    3) Yoda's scene was so emotional, i loved his words of wisdom to Luke about failure.

    4) Holdo's hyperspace collision. I loved Holdo's character, im sad she died. I actually loved her attitude towards Poe!

    5) "Certain point of view" , i loved the three perspectives of the flashback!

    6) Actually really liked the opening sequence to the casino in Canto Bight, its so fun and different compared to the scenes before it.

    7) Luke and Leia - so emotional!

I'm not sure if anyone caught this...but when we first arrive at Canto Blight, we see a long shot where the camera pulls in closer and closer on the tables and gamblers. I immediately caught that it was a homage to the classic 'Wings' restaurant shot, that was incredibly difficult to film.

Kylo and Rey teaming up against the Praetorian guards. Actually anything with Kylo and Rey. They made the movie.

Yeah, I liked the Force connection scenes, as well as the throne room scene. Little subtle nods like that to old continuity were nice, as opposed to blatant fanservice of TFA.

    Welcome Aboard!

On my first viewing i didnt like her because she was Laura Dern a little bit but her character seemed unreasonable and like a teacher that gets down on your case.
But on my subsequent viewings i realized i was projecting my dislike of that temperament on real people i know and now I appreciate her sacrifice and empathize with her a little more.

    1. Rey: Nowhere.
    b. Finn: We're really nowhere.
    2. Poe: We need to get out of range of those star destroyers!
    b. Akbar: We need to what? c. Leia: Get out of range of those Star Destroyers! (and the fighters will fall back!)
    3. Luke (to Rey) : Breathe b. Finn (to Rose) : Breathe

Rey looking like she’s lifting her hand to accept Kylo Ren’s then pulling the Saber but this time Kylo Ren being stronger with the Dark Side.

The shadow of the Falcon on Crait being all we see at first with that trademark sound.

Seeing Rey let Chewie pilot while she works the canons like Luke.

The shots from Rey’s perspective out the side of the Falcon in the mine where the mine’s walls are no more than a foot away.

Earlier, when Rose sets up Canto Bight almost like the Cantina and how it contains the worst of the worst and it’s that Baron on his Luxury cruiser sipping wine.

I meant stronger than the moment in TFA in the snow. It’s a call back but this time it’s a match and it shatters.

Waterfall at Canto Bight night view.
The Recon-tower situated at the waterfall side at Canto Bight. I didn't notice till my 4th viewing.
As soon as that "party barge" leaves the waterfall, seeing Finn and Rose arriving. Nice little sequence. Lots of things going on.

When I watched it again I realized that BB9E is one of the only reasons Finn, Rose and DJ fail initially. I knew he was the droid who spotted them as suspicious but didn’t realize he was there at capture at the front. Johnson makes a point to showcase him there proud that he was able to help save the day (from the FO’s perspective) the way BB8 is filmed. Even the little head move by the robot engineers seemed smug.

Idea being that this little droid on the FO’s end saved them with the same degree of loyalty and proficiency as BB8 does our heroes at times.

I really want a BB8 vs BB9E showdown in IX now. No idea how they’d pull it off but I want BB8 to get back at it somehow! I get the sense that BB8 has had enough short circuits to be slightly more creative and less predictable than BB9E likely is so I want to see BB8 bait him into a trap in IX or something.
