It helped that I was working almost every day, but yeah, it was not fun at all.

i had the chicken pox on christmas when i was like 8 years old. it was pretty great. as the only grandkid at that point, my grandmother and all my aunts and uncles spoiled me even more than they usually did. then my cousins started arriving and it was never the same! :_|

We've had two norovirus xmases with extended family. The first was so epic we gather under the tree every holiday and retell the story to the kids and nieces and nephews who were too young to remember.

I remember having the stomach flu at Christmas as a kid. Everyone else was eating a great dinner (turkey, probably) while I was stuck in bed with ginger ale and dry toast.

I'll remember this thread when I need some weight loss help.

I'm just trying to plan the summer right now. As far as Christmas, I hope it's not warm outside. I've had too many Christmases when the temperature was only three degrees different from the temperature in Sydney. That's not the way it's supposed to work.

Before I moved to the UK I lived in CT in the US. We had a lot of white Christmases when I was a kid but I think I've only seen one or two here and they were usually just flurries.

I'm always amused that we each live in the other's Christmas "hell" as it relates to the weather enough of the time. :p

I enjoy Christmas as much as anyone... However I'd prefer not to see people decorating their houses (with exceptions for those who maybe about to go on deployment and ergo, missing the Holidays) before Halloween.

    I think that is wonderful.

I'd love to put my tree up in October.

    I agree.

Halloween is a wretched thing and it would be a more goodly thing to advance our celebration of Christmas.

And in true love and brotherhood each other now embrace//
This holy tide of Christmas all others doth deface//
Oh tidings of comfort and joy

Yes, but cute kids in costumes and enjoying the leftover candy the trick or treaters don't snatch up is cool!

Halloween is not really a big thing in the UK. It was just an excuse to be an ********.
