I just read that article about A million little peices. Bravo. My sister watched the article on Oprah before she'd finished reading it. She was so sad, because she'd read half as a memoir and half as a novel. Im going to send a link of that article to her. If you dont mind...

 

Thanks SBD-518! Certainly don't mind you sending the link along to your sister. The whole Million Little Pieces thing was highly disappointing, but the thing is, it's clear this sort of thing goes on all the time. I remember reading one memoir and just being absolutely dumbfounded that the author was able to remember what seemed like the entirety of her childhood in excruciating detail, that just kept making me think, "There's something not right here..." Unlike James Frey, though, her writing was actually pretty solid regardless.

Incidentally, today's Philodoxer update should be of particular interest to Star Wars fans.

Hi, im new here but have been a fan to your work for years. I just wanted to say that i think your work contributed alot to the Star Wars universe and really enjoy it. I really liked the dark force saga ones and the grevious article. I await Vader's Legacy to come out.

You know what I just noticed? Halagad's ghosting appearance sets a precedent for Hayden Christensen as Anakin in the RotJ DVD Edition. One moment he's old, ugly, and disgusting (Rebel Pilot: "Is all that drooling... natural?" Annoying Squib: "Yeah, for a Hutt." Young Jedi: "The Dark Side is a path to things many consider to be... unnatural." ), and the next he looks like a 20-30 something year old.
