Wow, that is really surprising that Nadal and Roddick haven't met more in Grand Slams.

US Open seriously needs to add roofs. The last few years, there's been so many rain delays and wipe outs of entire days.

Looks like we're missing posts here, too.

I wasn't so sure about Roddick's chances against Del Potro, but Andy's looked pretty good so far.

I was at Arthur Ashe for Murray/Raonic last night. Decent match, sad that it was rain delayed so I only got to see one.

    And the rain wins again.

I flipped over to the Pirates game, and missed the first set going to a tie-breaker. I've got to think that extending things will help del Potro, but maybe this'll keep Roddick fresh for when the finish it up tomorrow.

the momentum was decidedly with del potro going into the breaker. i think the interruption will give roddick a much better chance to steal the first set, but i still think delpo will win the match.

murray/ raonic was a pretty good match to catch marcus. most of the night matches on ashe have been total blowouts. raonic just couldn't get anything going at all on murray's serve, which was disappointing but he's improving.

I just can't be bothered to follow anything when Rafa's not around. I wish it weren't so, but it is.

You may have to find a new sport to follow.

Something the McEnroe brothers hinted at last night in their commentary is that maybe Rafa trains too hard. As every baseball pitcher knows, the body is a machine, and it can only perform a given operation a certain number of times before the parts wear out. Rafa may have worn out some of his key parts a bit too early in his career.

As for Federer - that was his first ever QF loss at the U.S. Open. He lost in the 4th round in 2003, then won it for five straight years. Overall, a great year for a 31 year old. Two semifinal appearances in the slams, one win, and a quarterfinal loss. Plus a great match record for the year, and a return to the number one ranking. I assume he won't keep that though.

well delpo didn't lay down, djokovic was just too good. still, one of the better straight sets matches you'll ever see.

Amazing comeback by Serena! I thought she was done, but she summoned something that Azarenka just didn't have.

great match, but a disappointing result. vika is my favorite female player now that clijsters is retired, and i can't stand serena.

so bummed that the men's final got moved to today and i'm stuck at work. i actually think murray might finally break through.

Djokovic, Nadal, Federer and Murray all won a Grand Slam championship this year. You can't ask much more than that.

Also the Queen was 10 the last time there was a British men's winner.
