Aight, the Radisson Hotel Harbor View has opened up. The rate is:

    $119 for single occupancy
$119 ($59.50 per person) for double
$129 ($43.00 per person) for triple.
$139 (46.33 per person) for quad occupancy

I will have more hotel info when I get back from school.

Aight, since the link thing is being evil to me, I will just type up the info for the hotel.

The Radisson Hotel Harbor View is located about two blocks from the San Diego Convention Center. I put it into MapQuest and it says it's about a mile south of the CC. The rooms look pretty large, standard Holiday Inn or something like that. Indoor hallways and that stuff.

You mean "cue," right, Keiran? :~D Otherwise, you're asking "What funeral hymn?"

    :~P

Sorry. I've been teaching, way, way too long.

The Radisson is alright, from what I remember. A decent but not horrendous walk from the CC, and painted pinkish-beige, near the train station, I think.

I'll have to see if one of my other friends is going from school. She said she might, so if she does, I think I'll go.

Otherwise, I can't make it. :/ (She has an extra ticket I was going to use. :) )

Being out of school is fun.

Getting hounded by cops for drugs is not.

    OMG Garrett...

Seriously, people who have a member of their family in any law enforcement position should not abuse it like that...

Through Expedia and Travelocity, there are some other openings, but none of them all that cheap.....

Courtyard by Marriott, San Diego Downtown-Gaslamp has rooms for an average of about $133 per night, double occupancy.

US Grant - Wyndham Historic Hotel (fancy--stayed there once!) $288 per night, double (they have a suite for $360 per night, four people)

Wyndham San Diego at Emerald Plaza
    about $247.50 per night.

These are about 8 blocks from the CC, and nice, lots of restaurants, shopping, sightseeing stuff to do right there...

    Also...

The Residence Inn by Marriott Sand Diego, Downtown has a studio suite (sleeps 3) for $155 per night. 1 mile from the CC.

Best Western Bayside Inn is 0.5 miles from the CC, $155 per night.

Gaslamp Plaza Suites, "walking distance" to the CC, $160 per night.

W San Diego (4 star?) also "walking distance", $240 per night.

Embassy Suites Hotel San Diego Bay-Downtown less than 3 blocks to the CC, $279 a night and up (I remember this place basically right next to the CC..)

All these were asssuming check in on the 17th, check out the 19th.

More to come as I have time...

I'm *thinking* about it....it turns out, now, that about the only full week both the Mr. and I have off this summer will be the week after. I may or may not be able to find a way down there and stay. We'll see.

So, um....well.....what goes on at ComicCon, anyway?

Well, the exhibit hall has booths from all the major and minor comic book publishers, Dark Horse, DC, Marvel, etc. Also, Hasbro and Rubies have booths there. There are sure to be panels about comics and Q&As with famous members of the comic community. Hmm, I really shouldn't be the one doing this as I have never been before... ;)
The Star Wars Fan Film Awards will be there however. :)
