Whoah, poor Tahiri. Sounds like she gets tortured pretty bad. And poor Ikrit!

Anyway, I might get it tomorrow. My local Borders is convinced the street date is April 1, for some odd reason.

 

Sorry if this has already been answered and I've overlooked it, but whos that female Vong n the cover? Is that messed up Tahiri, or a high ranking Vong or what?

 

Exactly how far DO the Vong get with poor Tahiri?

 

Yeah, I'd kinda like to know that too. 14-year-old girls getting tortured is where I draw the line.

So the Academy is being attacked and Luke doesn't even go to defend it? Or Kyp?

I think evacuation was a better idea, myself. Once the children are safe and away, there's nothing left on Yavin IV worth defending, really.

 

Well, there's all the dark magic in the Sith ruins. It would serve the Vong right if some nasty Dark-side spirit got awakened and caused all sorts of trouble!

 

Must these books have such inane plots? For Luke Skywalker to ignore an attack on Yavin IV, which jeopardizes the future of the Jedi and, in his mind, of all the whole New Republic is absolutely ludicrous.

 

Naga Sadow's tomb (deep within the catacombs) and the temple that formerly housed the Golden Globe should still be there, along with all the various scriptures...

I wonder what they'd make of the crystal Corran, Kam, and Brakiss found in IJ.

actually luke does not ignore the threat to yavin 4. he sends karrde to get the chidren and the remaining masters, Kam, Tionne, and "little" ikrit. The female vong is one of the shapers, the vong caste that creates their biological ships and weapons. also a senator has leaked info to the vong on the ysalamiri and their relation to the jedi. these are just a few more tidbits

Actually, if I were in Luke's shoes I would go personally to protect an Academy that I built-up over the last twenty years.

Again . . . problems with chracterization continue in the NJO. True, the NJO is internally consistent confined to itself, but not when its stacked up against the most recent characterizations from BDD, HoT.

 

Wow... Poor Tahiri! I have been looking for Conquest, but all the book stores by me don't have it yet. I think that the female shaper on the cover thing is interesting.

how bad is the torture they do to Tahiri? I read about what they were trying to do, but I don't know exactly what they were doing.

You have to remember that Conquest is 95% Anakin! We should hopefully see Han and Leia in Rebirth. Star Wars isn't just about Han and Leia, yes the NJO has thrown some hardships at them, it makes the story more sad and real. I like it.
