    Ysalamiri
    slender, grey-furred creatures that create null-bubbles in The Force, the ysalamiri are native to the planet Myrkr. The bubble can be up to 10 meters in diameter. They attach their bodies to tree limbs and obtain nourishment from the wood, and will soon die if separated from their perch. They can reach lengths up to 50 centimeters, and have fur-covered scales.

    Get ready your money. ;)

    "We are considering changing the pricing scheme to $7 for an entry pass that is valid for both days ($6 for members), and there will be no more 1 day passes.
    (The previous price scheme is set at $5 for one day and $8 for two days)

    By doing so it will ease up a lot of our admin work on the registration side, and less confusing for all the participants,
    as well as more participation on both days.

    More importantly, it will help secure us more funds to cover the costs of this event, and prepare for the next.
    "

    Oppss! I forget to place the info during all the confusions about the event's location, dates and name. [face_blush]

    It's at MITA Building, aka that Multiple Color Window building near Clark Quay, before CHIJMES (main entrance).
    [image=http://www.mita.gov.sg/images/mita.jpg]
    [image=http://www.mita.gov.sg/images/mitamap.gif]
    It's now confirmed, thanks to the "donation" from last MAC Cosplay 2002. ;)

    Date: Sat, 20th & Sun, 21st December.
    (Note: 1st day will not be a cosplaying day so attendees are encourage to wear SW Costumes on that day if coming. 2nd day is Officially Cosplaying Day and our LOTR Team will be there to rock the joint with a Hobbit Band! :D)

    Here's the full post on the location, and some pictures of the place:

    There will be no MAC Cosplay 2003!!! But seriously, this doesn't mean that there is no end-of-year event that's organised by MAC. Instead, this year we feel that the direction the end-of-year event is taking will encompass more than just simply cosplay so we feel that it's no longer correct to call it MAC Cosplay 2003. So we'll be opening it to all to help us make this year-end event a big blast with all your input! Here are some tentative details:

    Location under investigation (and almost confirmed) - [b]MITA Bldg[/b]

    [image=http://www.f5pro.com/joash/mac/macrecee-090103/Images/5.jpg]
    [image=http://www.f5pro.com/joash/mac/macrecee-090103/Images/6.jpg]
    [image=http://www.f5pro.com/joash/mac/macrecee-090103/Images/7.jpg]
    This view is looking at the central space facing the lift lobby where the 4x4 video wall is.
    [image=http://www.f5pro.com/joash/mac/macrecee-090103/Images/8.jpg]
    The video wall is as big as the one found at Taka and Funan Centre so we will be thinking of ways to best utilise this resource. Like possibly having our first AMV screening during our event and using this to display frames showcasing our local artists and booth highlights, stage events, past event highlights.

    Past the lift lobby area is yet another enclosed air-con place where we'll probably set up the booths.
    [image=http://www.f5pro.com/joash/mac/macrecee-090103/Images/10.jpg]
    And next to it is an open air location for photo-taking.
    [image=http://www.f5pro.com/joash/mac/macrecee-090103/Images/11.jpg]
    The general overview is like this. (we occupy the triangle, the small rectangle, and the ARTrium)
    [image=http://www.f5pro.com/joash/mac/macrecee-090103/Images/13.jpg]

    The outlook of the place is more classy and arty and in line with our desire to promote more than just cosplay. we hope to promote more of the other types of local talent as well. And because we're getting a good deal for the rental, there's a very real possibility that this year it will be a 2-day event.

    Well, that's all for this brief report. We hope that we didn't shock you too badly with the news of no MAC COSPLAY 2003 and we'd like to hear your thoughts and ideas on how we can best maximise this year's event.

    Oh, we need a new name for it too.
    ([i]It's now Officially called M.A.C. 2003[/i])

    Here's a link to a map to the MITA building as well as the full address and picture of the building. [link=http://www.mita.gov.sg/abtloc.htm]http://www.mita.gov.sg/abtloc.htm[/link]

    DAY ONE (Saturday)
    --------

    The focus will be on "Creations". This day will be given over to featuring things that have been created locally with 'blood and sweat', illustrations, doujins, merchandises, model kits, animations, even game demos and trailers! We may not be able to get all these facets in but we hope to do our best! One thing mentioned to me before was that whenever cosplaying is involved, it tends to take most of the attention and the other aspects of a fest/fair/convention seem to suffer in its wake.

    So this year, we're planning it such that the cosplay part of the EOY event is on Sunday and while we are not going to chase away cosplayers on Saturday, it's not going to be the main focus/feature of that day and we hope that all enthusiastic cosplayers understand and save their energy for...

    DAY TWO (Sunday)
    --------

    What would probably be the 'rowdier' day to expend all your energies! We hope to have a fun-filled day of organised and free-and-easy activities in the typical tradition of our cosplay events, with improvements as best as we can handle. One logical reason for this arrangement is also to help our 'stamina'... can you imagine if we swapped the days? I think we'll probably tire out before the whole thing wraps up. In any case, we are still in the process of discussing the best way to maximise this year's location and two-day duration.

    Congratulation to Yazid, Xeno and Anas for being mentioned in M.A.G.E. #5 report of CosFest 2003 on page 17. :)

    "The writer particularly liked the Star Wars Team, with their understated costumes but incredible energy on stage. Of course, the lightsabers that could light up earned them extra points!"

    Yazid (with sunglasses on! [face_laugh] ) and Anas photo also appeared on page 16, though in pink and wasn't that clear!

    Scans of the pages, plus the BH article will come *maybe* next Tues or Wed; as soon as I can sneak off the scanner to this computer again. ;)

    Keep the Star Wars Costuming Spirit alive, visible and kicking in Singapore! :D
