Since our next event won't be until March 19th (unless something comes up that we don't know about yet) this stretch of "free" time will be the perfect time to do any hard core work on your costume(s) that you haven't been able to do with all the back to back events.

I'm going to try to focus on finishing up my Padme gown as that'll be the only costume I'll be able to fit into for the RPO concert.

Once I finish that I'm going to work more on my 501st costume.

I plan on an extensive brainstorming session regarding next costumes but not until after the holidays... actually not until after the 9th (close of a big project or three at work).

However at this point I have on my list:

    Star Wars:
C3PO *long long long long term* unless I hit it big at the casino on the Jan 27th
TK *we'll see how soon, it depends*
Something where I get to play with a lightsaber officially

    HP:
    Gryff Quidditch Sweater
    Quidditch Pads
    Champion Robes

    Comics:
    Spiderman *yes a new one...*

3PO sounds like its long down the road and its some times fun to show your face, So lets see, we got the smuggler, the Princes, the Wookie, some Troopers to chase them, all we need is the Farm Boy. Ad the white Trooper belt and we can Escape from the Death Star. Eventually it would be cool to do some complete cast theme photos like that. He does use the Saber a little bit in that film. Maybe Lukes not your thing. I never felt like enough of a Luke fan to do a costume, but the thought of doing Bespin Luke has popped into my head from time to time. It figures I would think about it after the club stopped selling the Jackets.

This isn't SW but I suppose it could be considered a costume.

Made myself a winter cloak last weekend (I'll probably make two or three more for myself by the time the season is over), but this one if inspired by the Hogwarts student cloaks. It's homespun cotton with a fleece lining, three fabric frog closures, complete with inner pocket and wand pocket. ;) And I think it might seriously be warmer than my winter coats. LOL I've been wearing it everywhere all week.

*Side note: The wind was blowing in the photos. :p

What anime costume are you thinking about doing?

I just helped a friend do a Full Metal Alchemist costume in October. Yay anime!

Well, Diane made me a Ravenclaw scarf for Christmas. I guess I now need to research a costume to go with it then especially since I finished The Goblet of Fire and Order of the Phoenix recently. ;) I can't wait for Half-Blood Prince to come out in paperback now. I want to know how they did on their O.W.L.s. (I know, "geek").

With the Anakin hair growing ever-longer, it may be time to consider doing his "discoverer" and mentor, Qui-Gon Jinn. Having just looked in the Ep.1 Visual Dictionary yesterday, the projet, though not too daunting, still requires quite a bit of work. Especially when you consider more leatherwork to create new spats and belt, and summing up the differences in the robe (which will probably require an entirely new one); the rest is easy. I already have a Qui-Gon saber hilt, (as you may remember from our May 16th table at TRU in Greece), and I can fake a lit saber with the Luke FX from Borders until they put out the Qui-Gon FX (reportedly later this year...[fingers crossed]).

Sewing the tunic should be no problem whatsoever; may already have the fabric to do so. All that and a few days growth of beard... that should do it! Still haven't ruled out an Ep.2 Obi-Wan, either...

I'm going to place the order this evening for my Sith Cheerleader patch (I think I'll snag a FemTrooper patch too since they're from the same guy). Was anyone else interested in one? Both styles are $4 a piece. Normally I would just get extra and make assumptions on who might be interested, but these ones are a bit on the expensize side because of the small run orders.

Well I swapped my bubble leses out last night. Not a great job , but they'll suffice till i can try again. But even tho I cut them a bit small, they still are 100% better to see thru than the bubble lenses.

on another note , Mike & or Duane, what does it take to rig up a headset & speakers? I'd like to try to have one setup for Sunday, if it's simple enough.

If you want just the regular box amp everyone uses they have them and the mic at Radio Shack. You may want to test it there as some of the Microphones require inline power. All in all usually less than $40 at the Shack. I used this stuff and butchered it up with some micro piezo speakers for my in helmet audio. However there are some great links on the 501st forums for mylar micro speakers which would sound better than those from the Shack if you plan to do a more custom job.

Duane I need to find time to work on a list for you for fans and such. The fans are at the Shack for about $20 each but that is silly. I haven't had a chance to get a link for em cheaper from like TigerDirect or somewhere. I've also gone AA rather than 9V for mine as Darren suggested. It's better but I have a 8 AA holder rigged for 6 AA as 8 was way to much. But I want a different shape.

By the way my Casino trip last weekend ended with some minor profit but not enough for 3PO. Though twice I came within one card of a $90,000 jackpot... ARRGH!

For those of us Jedi who don't have food capsules yet, I'm getting 30 of the special pen caps from a costumer in Germany. Of course we still need to get the special ends and paint them, but it's a start...
