Treating myself this weekend to beers.

Stouts and a brown ale. I've been told the Rogue is very hot and while chatting with one of the guys at my beer store, he suggested if too hot for drinking try as a marinate for chicken breasts. I think I will try that.

Super intrigued by that Rogue sriracha one. And eager to get my hand on the Bell's Jupiter!

The Jupiter was the one I opened first. Delightful! Moose Drool was my favorite brown ale, but I like this more. Sadly I could only buy one small bottle as Discount only received a small amount and they were limiting purchase to one bottle. Perhaps there will still be some if I go back tomorrow.

I had the Bell's Jupiter last night and it was...eh. It was fine. Not great, not bad. My roommate and I opened my bottle of Bruery's Or Xata and THAT was heavenly. It's a vanilla bomb with nice subtle cinnamon notes and super creamy.

Anyone get their hands on KBS this year?

A store not too far from me got some KBS in. One bottle limit. I imagine they are gone by now though.

    That Jupiter looks good.

First time I've seen this thread. Since my brothers and I are into craft beer, I thought I'd check it out.

I tend to lean towards the darker, caramel beer, or the fruity ones, and I do enjoy me a good pumpkin ale and a chili beer (even homemade with a chipotle dropped into whatever beer's available). My half-brother mixes his beer, so I've been doing some of that, mostly by looking for additional ingredients to throw in.

For example, I mixed a few spoonfuls of cranberry sauce into a Pendulum pilsner, and it turned out great.

I'd like to try a sour beer sometime. Something similar to the sourness of cranberry. What would you guys recommend?

My sister just called me. Her husband won two tickets to a beer fest this Sunday. She doesn't like beer so she volunteered me to go with him. She is designated driver so will pick me up and drop me off. Sweet!

If any of you are ever in Atlanta, GA, you should visit the Brick Store Pub. A large and always-changing selection of great draught and bottled beers, and a separate bar upstairs just for Belgian beers.

WookatMe I'm supposed to be trying to get you a bottle of Mexican Cake, right? I might be able to swing by my usual "find rare Westbrook beers because no one else looks here for them" place on Friday.

I've been overwhelmed by insane beers the last two days. Mexican Cake 2014 and Lichtenhainer from Westbrook yesterday and then CBS and Big Luscious from Founders today along with some XVI Anniversary from Firestone Walker and Grapefruit Sculpin. So thankful to live in this neighborhood full of silly good beer bars.

Got a second bottle of Purple Monkey Dishwasher and I'm saving it to share with my half-brother. I told him about it, but he hasn't tried it, yet. Cassell's in Mount Holly did have a Tap Takeover with Evil Genius brewery, but he didn't take advantage of it.

Usually, he introduces me to various beers, so this is my chance to introduce him to one I picked up and liked.

And sours caught my attention. I'd really like to try a sour beer some day.

Went to a preview of 42 Ale House on Wed. and finally tried The Kimmie, The Yink and the Holy Gose. A superb sour. Then I had an Oso Convenient Distraction, one helluva delicious imperial porter. Still have to add to untappd.

Ale House grand opening is today, can't wait to try more beers.
