A Cleveland brewery, Brew Kettle, recently opened a bar/restaurant in my hometown and we went there Christmas Eve. Almost everything I tried from them was really impressive and I may have to stop back to get a 6-pack of their double IPA or even the session IPA.

 

Last night, the bestie and I did what has become a yearly tradition. I buy the Trader Joe's Vintage Ale each year, a Belgian dark ale made by Unibroue in Quebec exclusively for TJs. I always buy two, one to age and one to drink. So we drank the 2014 ale I aged and the new 2015 ale. The 2015 was absolutely delicious, complex, rich and dark. I'm excited to see how it ages. The 2014 was actually a bit mellow and my rating in Untapped was like 3.75 stars, so clearly I was not as impressed with it when it was new either. It's nice, but not as good as the 2015.

 

I saw that when I was there a few weeks ago. I considered picking one up by didn't. I didn't know it was made by Unibroue.

Yes and they're always enjoyable.

 

WookatMe I found out recently that HealerLeona has never had Anderson Valley Bourbon Barrel Aged Stout. Have you? I feel like we need to remedy this...

 

I might try to pick up a bottle of Westbrook's 5th Anniversary stout tomorrow if I have time between baking and the Cavs game. I really shouldn't spend the money right now, but the Anniversary stout last year was soooo good that I don't want to miss it this year.

They used to only have the twins, Summer and Winter Solstice. But now they've added that stout plus the two amazing Goses.
