I had quite the weekend... went out Saturday for the Timbers match with a co worker and wound up having like 10 beers lol. Don't be alarmed as many of them were tasters at Bailey's Taproom. Had a pair at the stadium and then ended the night at a German pub with a nice dark Hefeweizen.

Me either -- it seems like the most appropriate way to procure a "porter".

 

So I was at a bar the other week visiting a friend, and the bartender asked me what I wanted. My default is always Blue Moon if I'm not familiar with the place, so I asked for that. They don't have it, but she then said that she'd get me a Summit if I like Blue Moon. Turns out it's an IPA Summit. I like ****ing Belgian Wheat beers, how the flying **** is that similar? I can't drink IPA's, it's like drinking soap.

 

I hate when bartenders and servers know nothing about beer and make a recommendation like that. Piss off, you know nothing about beer if you recommend an IPA when someone orders a wheat beer. Polar opposites.

 

For me Blue Moon, especially Blue Moon on tap, is the perfect beer for me. Not too light and not too dark. Just right.

 

Have you tried Boulevard Unfiltered Wheat? You might like it.

I had this new Outra Vez gose from Sierra Nevada and was surprised at how good it is! Gose with cactus and grapefruit. Very tasty!

 

Though the vanilla was a bit more subtle than I expected, this isn't a bad beer; next time I'm at BevMo, there's this vanilla-flavored brew from a Colorado micro brewer (I forget the name) I'd like to try.
