I am so jealous you got to try the barrel aged version of that beer. I had it when I was home in June, I think? So silly good. I'm really hoping GL still has that on tap when I visit next month!

I had this delicious pretzel flavored beer the other night. I must have more!

 

Right now I'm drinking a good barley wine aged in barrels, it's called Insanity by Weyerbacher. My next beer will be Oscar Blue Ten Fidy. That one is my favorite.

Yea the Ten Fidy I have is a year old. I'm excited to taste how it ages........ok yes it's so smooth with a thick dark aromatic head.

 

Yeah that Lakefront tour is the most fun brewery tour I've ever been on.

 

Mmmm Costco had a bottle of Boulevard Smokestack Rye-on-Rye X. It's a barrel aged rye ale. I am so stoked!

 

Oh it was the Shock Top brand.

Also lol you would buy one of the only ones they bottle that I've never tried. Not a huge fan of apricot.

I just finished a 500ml bottle of Old Stock Ale 2013 Cellar Reserve. Aged in bourbon barrels! Boy o boy so good!. Made by North Coast Brewing.

Sour beer is only good for cooking IMO.

 

My new obsession is unpasteurized craft beer. While there's a ton of 'em out there, Kona and Sierra Nevada are easily available in my area at random stores.

 

It can be tough, especially when they are all just so damn hoppy. But that's the norm.
There are a couple places doing it right where you get the flavor of a craft beer, without hop overload. Bear Roots in my area has a magnificent Red IPA that tastes like a lager. It's wonderful. Ballast Point's IPAs are good too. Especially the grapefruit Sculpin. Mmmmmmmm

Just keep tastin! You'll find one or two worth keepin around.

 

As i type I'm at a very expensive Cantina called Cowan's Public here on the moon of New Jersey. Very swanky. There on Facebook.

I'd just finished a glass of Elysian "The Great Pumpkin". Suuuuuuuuuuperb! I'm now enjoying an Elysian Punkuccino. Now I detest most coffee beers but this 1 ain't to shabby.

I'll finish the night with an Elysian "Dark O' The Moon". Details coming soon!

 

I think a friend and I are gonna go check out the new-ish self-serve beer place in the LES. Sounds like you put money on a card and then pour as you'd like, pay per ounce.
