[IMG] this stuff is pretty darn tasty. The back end has a great flavor of date/grapey sweetness. Plus it's 15%.

I also age beers. I have an 18 bottle wine fridge and I took out the bottom two shelves so that the top half is wine and the bottom half is beer. Aging probably 10 bottles in that, plus whatever I have in the garage fridge.

Alright group, what would be your top 5 breweries? In order. Also, name your favorite brew from each brewery.

This was so hard! I kept thinking of favorite particular beers of mine but would then have to remember that I was trying to focus more on brewery rather than just solo brews. I went with my gut (plus some untappd perusing) and I think I've got mine down? Maybe?

Finback, Queens NY (Smooth Beatz Miami) -- a silly good coconut IPA
Grimm, Brooklyn NY (Psychokinesis or Lumen) -- a dry-hopped sour and an IPA that are so balanced and well-crafted that you keep going back for more
Platform, Cleveland OH (Orange Blossom Gose( -- maybe the best gose I've ever had?
Barrier, Long Island NY (Half & Half) -- imperial coffee milk stout that would be a fridge staple if it were produced on the reg
Bell's, Kalamazoo MI (Two Hearted Ale) -- one of my all-time favorites

It was hard to not include The Alchemist or Wicked Weed but I've only had 3-4 beers from each and I feel like that's not enough of a variety to comfortably put them in this list. Also, honorable mention goes to Singlecut in Queens. They've reallllyyyy upped their game over the last year or so and are quickly becoming, in my opinion, one of the best in NYC.

Oh my god. Tony you are killing us all. How am I supposed to choose??

    Augustinerbräu - Augustiner Weißbier
    Cascade Brewing - Diesel stout
Anderson Valley - Summer Solstice/Holy Gose
    Avery Brewing - Samael's Oak-Aged Ale
Fort George - Cavatica Stout (Bourbon Barrel-Aged)

I literally have to include 2 other breweries that for me were tied with #5. Crux Fermentation Project and Great Divide Brewing. Fantastic beers all around, well made even if I don't care for the style.

This is tough. I'm just going to answer without thinking too hard about it.

Great Lakes Brewing Company -Combination of fantastic brewery, hometown pride, and nostalgia. Favorite brew here is probably the Alberta Clipper Porter
Great Divide Brewing Company - Never had a bad brew. Favorite Brew here is TItan IPA, the best IPA I've ever had.

Nope. Can't do it. I know a top-two, but need need to think on a top five.

Great Divide was my favorite Colorado brewery. Until I had Avery.

Alright, I've thought about it and I think I have decided on my top 5. Keeping in mind how often I drink them and how much of their lineups I have had.

    5. New Belgium - La Folie
Between their regular lineup and they usually very solid Lips of Faith series, I would be hard pressed to think of a brewery I buy more from.

    4. Cigar City - Oatmeal Raisin Cookie
I love this brewery, but it feels like they have kind of fallen off a bit over the last couple of years. Also, they stopped making one of my all time favorite's "Hotter than Helles". Still, even with the slip, they are still one of the best in the country, imo.

    3. Funky Buddha - BA French Toast

These guys may be much higher on the list very soon. The only reason their not now, is their usual lineup is just okay, but their seasonal releases such as Blueberry Cobbler, Sweet Potato Casserole and Nib Smuggler are tops! And let's not forget Maple Bacon Coffee Porter.

    2. Bells Brewing - Two Hearted Ale

My 1 and two are kind of a toss up. Both breweries put out amazing beers. I don't think I've ever had a beer from Bells I didn't love.

    1. Anderson Valley - Blood Orange Gose

I love this brewery so much it was almost impossible to list a top beer from them for me. And honestly, it depends on the day. Summer Solstice, Winter Solstice, Barney Flats, Holy Gose, Pinchy Jeek, Fall Hornin, all winners.

Honorable mention: Great Divide - Claymore Scotch Ale

It's been a while since I have had anything from them. The selection in Florida is pretty limited. But I truly love this brewery and should probably but it more.

I like Avery. But they don't have anything I absolutely love/crave the way Great Divide does. Beyond the Titan IPA, Great Divide has Yeti, Collette, and Claymore that are just fantastic, and I find myself not just wanting a beer, but wanting one of those three specifically.

    1. Dogfish Head - Milton, DE
      1. 90min IPA (tastes like a lager)
    2. Bear Roots - Vista, CA
      1. Bite the Bullet Belgian Ale (one of the best damn beers I've ever had.)
    3. Coronado Brewing Co. - Coronado, CA
      1. Islander IPA
    4. Booze Bros - Vista, CA
      1. Honey Bloom Ale (light and tasty)
    5. Sierra Nevada - Chico, CA
      1. Nooner Pilsner

Okay fair enough. La Folie is an amazing beer. And yes their Lips of Faith series is stunning. Most of their beer I like the best are LoF. My favorite beer from their regular selection is 1554.

Their Vienna lager was stellar. However, the horrible collaboration with Widmer left such a bad taste in my mouth. I need to rescue their reputation with some of their better stuff.

Obviously AVBC was in my list as well. I am shocked your list does not include the Wild Turkey Bourbon Barrel Aged Stout or the Huge Arker. Those are mammoth and incredible. But yes, all of the other ones you've mentioned. Except Pinchy Jeek. Never heard of that...

HELL yes. These guys are amazing. Anything Yeti is great, their anniversary ale(s), Colette, Hoss, their Grand Cru, Orabelle, Heyday, Claymore Scotch Ale, the list goes on and on.

    Liliko'i Kepolo (wit)
    Samael's Oak-Aged Ale
    White Rascal
    Coconut Brown Ale
    Trogdor the Burninator (doppelbock)
    The Reverend (Belgian quad)

Great Divide kept popping into my head while I made up my list but I realized it was just because I love Yeti sooo much. But I definitely agree that they are a phenomenal brewery.

This was a great idea, Tony! Can't wait to read more of these!
