Had my first New Glarus beer tonight, thanks to Healer_Leona! Spotted Cow was perfect tonight, super refreshing and easy drinking after a really long and intense night of work. I shared it with my coworkers and we all were so so happy to have it

 

It's a solid beer but New Glarus has even better stuff.

 

Yeah, I have a couple sours too. Just waiting for the right time to open them.

 

I bought five new (to me) beers yesterday. But I forgot to drink any of them.

Among the treats waiting for me? Renegade Brewing Imperial Peanut Butter Cup Stout and Cucumber Crush (a cucumber sour) by 10 Barrel

 

Cucumber Crush is excellent. I've had a ton of that, not a surprise considering 10 Barrel is from Oregon. They actually have a bunch of different "Crushes." Strawberry, Cranberry, Lemon. They're all good.

 

I wish I could get into sours or Belgians. I find those flavors unbearable as soon as it hits my lips. More power to people who like them, just means you can drink even more beer

I just drank one...as a pure stout drinker it was smooth, flavorful, and pleasant. But it was advertised as barrel aged, and I tasted no bourbon. If you like a smooth strong stout then yes, this is for you. If you are like me and want a strong in your face flavor, then this isn't the beer for you.5.5/10

 

Three new beers for me tonight

Avery - Ellie's Brown Ale
10 Barrel - Cucumber Crush
Renegade - Consilium

Ellie's is amazing. The Cucumber Sour was fantastic. The renegade pale Ale was just okay.

 

I've only had a couple other Craft Brothers before and they were pretty good. Let's hope this one is nice and tasty.

I've been drinking Guinness as of late, and I've heard good things about the Nitro version.

 

I recommend the Foreign Extra. It has deep rich flavors, way more than the normal Guinness.

So happy you loved Skyspace Healer_Leona! Some friends and I shared the Serendipity the other night and that was divine. So much fruit flavor without being too sweet. Everyone was blown away by it, thank you!

 

just cracked open my Imperial Peanut Butter Cup Stout. OMG, amazing.

Renegade might be cracking my top five brewery list. If I ever get around to naming number 3-5.

 

My home town's brewing company makes a Berliner Weisse that is excellent. I drank a crowler of that tonight. Delicious!

Hmm, kinda forgot to check back on this thread for a while. I live in the San Francisco Bay Area. I hear microbreweries being mentioned every now and then, so I assume there's plenty of choices available around here? Though as of the moment I don't think I have a lot of cash to burn on beer.

 

Ohhh you should try Alesmith Speedway Stout if you can find it on draft or even a tallboy can. It's pretty pricey but one of my favorite imperial stouts.

 

Drake. Their 1500 Pale Ale is very good. THey are the only local I can speak to, but I've heard good things about a few others.

 

Russian River is good. Lagunitas is good. 21st Amendment is good. Those are all from the region. For a stout that I LOVE, try the Drakonic from Drake's. It's very inexpensive for the quality of Imperial Stout you get. It's WOW!
