The *Official* Design the Character "Lac Wac" Contest Thread!!

Darth_Zandalor got so excited about this he started his own thread!


Most of you by now have seen the talk about who the character Lac Wac would be if he or she was created and placed in the Clone Wars.

I said that is a great idea and we should have a contest. Well, here's the contest: please post your entry in this thread. Thread is open to mods if they feel the urge.

We've already seen XCell's incredible contribution that will be hard to beat. If she doesn't repost it here, I will.

Remember that we still need to adhere to the TOS and Rules of the JC. That means no offensive or pornographic or insulting images or behaviour or material.

That being said, THIS IS A PARODY CONTEST, so some teasing is acceptable. As always, the mods will decide when to draw the line. Please note XCell's drawing as something that pokes fun at some of the beliefs strongly held in LACWAC, whilst still being tasteful and not cruel.

The contest will be open until Hallowe'en, October 31, 2010. Once we've got all the entries, we'll set up a poll for the LACWACers to vote on their favorite. The mods (including any of the non-LACWAC mods who post here) will have their own poll in Mod Squad to vote on their favorite.

The winner will have VIP status for one month. If the Mod Squad and LACWAC polls give 2 different winners, we'll have 2 VIPs.

It's true! I was so excited that they had to edit my post so that I wouldn't explode from the epicness to come!

I'll try to finish my contribution over the weekend.

 

Way I'm imagining it, I'm thinking I might have to submit two, three, maybe even four pieces to fully portray the scope of LACWAC as I see it.

 

Agreed on that! It'll be hard to encompass all of Lac Wac in one picture.

Yes, it doesn't have to be a single photo/cartoon frame, it can be whatever you think.

 

A Lac Wac banner (with most of the entries) will be kind of cool.

 

Yeah, I'm thinking shot strips coupled with a bit of a short (very short) story. With a shameless 'narrator' in the form of Kuun Fan.

 

If I can spare the time (currently under a barrage of university work) I'll try to cook up a comic strip for 'Lac Wac'; I already have a light-hearted idea brewing.

 

What does VIP status actually entail?

Two things that have made me unable to really get into this.

A) The mentioned discussions of who the character of Lac Wak should be, well I've never seen one of these discussions nor do we seem to have a thread for it.

B) X-Cell(and others) apparently already have pictures done but none have been posted here. This despite promises in the first post that they would be.

What am I missing here? It seems like this Lacwac contest has nothing to do with Lacwac in terms of discussions or pictures.

 

It started out with some fantasizing about a new character for the series. I thought it would be cool if they introduced a character who is chronically annoyed by Ahsoka, like Han was by 3PO. Then I thought it would be cool if they named him or her Lac Wac, due to an often felt resentment of Ahsoka on these boards.

However, that was just the initial idea. Your version of Lac Wac could be totally different.

I think we're supposed to make a character who somehow reflects something that is reminiscent of the people and/or sentiments on this forum. The contest is not very specific about it, but that's as far as I understand it all.

Sorry it took so long to get this put up, scanner took a while to fix, but here goes my contribution.

Here is my LAC WAC, a sort of Cthulu meets Death Watch meets biker vibe.

Rob - the rules are in the first post. You missed this little discussion here, concerning the original idea. It was mostly just conjecture, until XCell initiated it all by posting this beauty.

Zandalor - Oh, the hilarity... reminds me of Durge a little. Only... as a Cthulu.... who happens to be a Mandalore...

 

Nice one, Darth_Zandalor. So at some point, the Mandalorians assimilated into their warrior culture...C'thulu...Interesting.

I've got one of my pieces done, and another three have been outlined. Yes, that's right, I've planned four pieces...three parts, one of which splits into two. XD

Yeah well, I don't go in the spoiler thread very often for a reason.

I think the idea is a fun one but you may have managed to exclude a huge amount of people by not explaining exactly what was happening.

Would a dedicated thread have really hurt that much?

Thanks. I've got another one on the go right now. Sort of a mix between Humble's original annoyance Idea and my Mr. Cthulu.

 

So rather than try and win by skill, I've decided to flood this topic with numbers and flavour text. Hopefully it will make you avert your eyes from the horrible existence which is my drawings. XD

Here we have the beginnings of Lac Wac, and his general purpose and mood. Usually skeptical, ultimately helpful, and one who endures.

Part B
The dreams of Lac Wac are decidedly less dramatic than those of General Grievous, but they're probably way scarier. And induced by blue milk gone bad.

The question we might ask ourselves is: Who's this piece a commentary on? Lac Wac, or the guys who did this to him? Well, it's really both. XD

But it's not all gloom and doom! Surrounded by those who value his input, and congratulated by Master Filoni himself, Lac Wac finally gets what he deserves! Or is THIS the alternate ending?
