I like the Idiot's Lantern

 

No you don't.

 

Idiot's Lantern lends itself well to repeated viewings. I've seen it 3 times I think and it's still as good/bad/whatever as the first time. There are several other episodes which just get worse and worse.

 

I remember it as being crushingly dull. Except that it had David Tennant in it, and he's always watchable.

 

I think, if one word were to be chosen to describe my experience of TIL, 'Dull' would be that word.

 

I liked Rose's costume

 

Yeah that was pretty nice.

You have made a good point, there, Danielle.

 

Me, too (apart from the colour - there is such thing as too much pink... ).

And I loved Ten's hair.

 

I liked the Idiot's Lantern.

The Next Doctor?

 

The Idiot's Lantern was alright, nothing spectacular. The dad was particularly annoying, but I guess he was supposed to be.

My prediction for the next episode: The Doc's Daughter (Who he then goes and has a baby with )

 

Good guess...forgot about that one

This is personally my least favorite out of all of the episodes. Stupid villain, stuip supporting cast, stupid premise, the faceless people look ridiculous...ugh. I was the one who gave it a 2.

 

80. The Lazarus Experiment

On Earth, in present day London, The Doctor, Martha and her family attend a scientific demonstration by the aged Professor Lazarus. But when the experiment goes wrong, a horrific product of genetic manipulation is unleashed, leaving a trail of death in its mission to live indefinitely.

I've only seen this episode once, and I don't really remember that much about it. But I really don't rate Gatiss as an actor. He should stick to his strength, writing.

But I do need to watch it again for 3 reasons

1) It's come up on this list
2) I went to the filming locations yesterday
3) It has the Doctor playing the freaking organ!

Will come back after I've seen it again

 

I presume you missed out the bit that said "...except as Mycroft, where he's great."

Was going to mention Mycroft too.

As for this episode, I had to go look it up somewhere to jog my memory. Utterly forgettable.

 

Nope, didn't miss that. All I can see there is "I wrote this, so I get a part". Worst thing about Sherlock for me.

Indeed.

But, as much as I like Gatiss as Mycroft, I can't say I enjoyed his performance as Dr. Lazarus. The episode is pretty forgettable - plus it has probably the worst CGI monster in NuWho.

 

I should've had a guess. Had this in my bottom 10.

 

Didn't mind it. Very bland. Liked the design of the monster. Other than that, pretty forgettable.

Though I would've said that The Doctor's Daughter is worse than this.

 

Just caught up with this and I have to say that I agree mostly with the episodes so far. I pretty much have liked all the episodes, though of course there are some that are much more painful to watch than others.

 

Besides the Doctor being pretty brilliant in this episode, it's pretty awful.
