    I'm doing good. :)

I guess I'm here for my monthly "hello!"

I finally started seeing some of the newer wave of action figures in stores, too bad most them have figures priced at 7-8 dollars. And I've been seeing some Iron Man and Speed Racer stuff showing up- yay! Summer Movie Season 2008 is starting to gear up. Only one month until Indiana Jones. [face_cowboy]

who's looking forward to WALL*E? I've seen the previews several times and it looks great.

A friend saw Andrew Stanton's WALL*E (Disney, 6.27) and says it's (a) sort of an animated Jacques Tati film in the vein of Mon Oncle, in part because there's almost no dialogue for the first 45 minutes or so,
    - and spoiler eliminated here.
    Continuing:
You might think from the trailers that it's basically a robot love story, but that ain't the half of it. It's "not your typical wheee, happy, up-up-up animated family entertainment," the friend says. "Once again, Pixar is pushing the button".

    s. It has a lot more on its mind."Roger Deakins was a "visual consultant" on this film.
and I just found a very brief thumbs up review:

A friend of mine saw it recently. He'd been oddly skeptical going in (I don't know why), and I'd been telling him I was sure it was going to be amazing.
He was blown away. Said it was stunningly beautiful and one of Pixar's very best.
I never doubted it for a minute -- can't wait.

I'm definitely looking forward to Wall*E. Pixar manages to get so much emotion out of their characters. They really do push their limits.

On the Pixar shorts DVD they had a cartoon about a unicycle who dreams of being in a circus. And they managed to get feeling an emotion out of an intimate object just moving around.

    I agree J. -
Best gathering/diversified costumes ever at a local event. IMO of course.

I was in the Naboo group and Rob's Darth Nihilus scared the heck out of some people but then they all wanted their picture with him.

I feel like a stupid idiot..I need to get with the program. I have had my nose in a tun of books..and they all deal with some aspect of my favorite character, Anakin and his evilness Vader.
I desperatly want to get to know members in my area who are SW fans.

I belong to other clubs and they involve classic cars. I was once taken hostage by Vader and his Stormtroopers in Canada back in Aug 2007. Pretty cool!
Please email me or post to this topic.

    Thanks!!

I guess its September, time for my monthly post. :p

I thought WALL*E was pretty good, was a while before I got to the theater to see it. I think its now at Woodland Mall's $3.50 theater if anyone is interested.

Clone Wars was fairly good- honestly though I wasn't too into the new girl. But, either she got more interesting as the movie went along or I grew to tolerate her better. Obi-Wan's voice seemed too condescending to me though. Loved the clone troopers though. =D=

Christopher Lee was back as Dooku and Sam Jackson voiced Mace Windu (although I thought it sounded like an impersonator, weird huh?)and of course Anthony Daniels played C-3PO. I think it made a good pilot episode for a series- I'm looking forward to Star Wars on TV. Any quibbles I have with the film are things that can be worked on in a long playing series.

So up next, what to do for Halloween? [face_pumpkin]

YIKES! Should have gotten more done before the storm hit. and I sustained a huge delay due to: I was in a 4 1/2 hour long distance Star Wars conversation that began last night and didn't finish until the wee hours of the morning. Geez - I really miss that bantering, defending, debating, but ultimately appreciating SW and the prequels. One of the best reasons to delay baking Xmas cookies. Anyone have vanilla extract? I need those tiny silver balls, too. There's an opening for a punchline for ya!

and hiya back to ya Lansing!

and KATZ!!! First time I saw your post - much to discus, we have.... HUGE actually -
send me your email and I'll share pix

Now, now Stiger!! You know I drool over Obi-Wan too. As a character and as a Ewan. There's been some fantastic pix of Ewan on his bike in LA recently. Black leather...
