Art Archive The Official Fan Art Challenge - Announcement 1/5

Welcome to the Offical Fan Art Challenge! Each month, a single subject or category from the Star Wars universe will be chosen for artists of all skill levels to interpret. A wide range of media will be accepted including, but not limited to, graphite/ink drawings, paintings, photo-manips, digitial paintings/drawings, collages and posters. It's really whatever you're inspired to do. Be creative! If the subject is a TIE Fighter, don't just draw a TIE Fighter, try to incorporate it into a scene that's interesting. Or perhaps you would rather take the Alliance's view on the TIE. The possibilities are endless!

As an extra twist, the Challenge will now be considered as a contest or a game. At the end of each quarter(Fall;September-November, Winter;December-February, Spring;March-May, Summer;June-August), all pieces of artwork submitted during that particular time period will be up for nomination for the "Art Challenge Fan Favorite Award." If your artwork makes it through the nomination process and wins the final vote, you will be awarded colors of your choosing and a title for a week to sport around the entire JC. [color=red][b][u]Fan Art Challenge for November:[/color][/b][/u]

[color=blue][b]Misplaced Star Wars[/b][/color](very special thanks to [b]GIMER[/b] for the idea and helping me put it all together!)

[color=blue]The idea of this challenge is to place something from Star Wars(a character or vehicle, for example) in another sci-fi universe. The number system will come into play once a

 

Now I'm thinking maybe I should've included movie characters as well, but meh. That's an idea for another time I guess.

EDIT: Unless I do 50 movie characters and 50 EU characters and everyone chooses a number from each...

 

I never imagined it would be this popular, so perhaps we could give this a try for a few more rounds and see what we can come up with.

If you have any ideas for themes, let me know.

 

Great job, everyone! If you still haven't finished your character from last month, there's still time to get them done. Just post them to this thread when they're completed.

With that said, the new challenge for October is up. Since last month's challenge was such a success, I decided to go another round with this format but use characters from the Star Wars films this time. Let's see what we can come up with this time around.

And here's something I'm gonna throw out there. I want to participate in this month's challenge and since it won't be fair if I picked the number(since I know what character is assigned to all the numbers), I'm going to let you pick. Send me any number via PM and I will draw the corresponding character. This will be a first come, first serve basis. I'll post up when I have a number and we'll go from there. I'm willing to do more than one, so I'll keep you all posted.

I just want to say the thread has been updated and someone has stepped up to the challenge and sent me a number, so I'll be holding off on anymore until I get my first image up.

It was late when I typed that up, so it might have been a little confusing. Basically, I was just saying that I'm going to participate in October's challenge and to make it fair, I will let someone choose the number for me. A number was already sent to me and before I let someone send me another, I want to complete the first and post it up in this thread. I hope that makes a little more sense.
