The movie was Judge Dredd as was the character. The reason fans were upset was because Stallone removed his helmet in the movie, something Joe Dredd had not done in his comic and when he did his face was concealed. Fans felt this should have been a part of the movie as it was Dredd law. No pun intended.

I'll give you a clue on this because I'm annoyed I'm out and how easy this answer is. The main actor in this movie is the only man in the world I would marry. He's possibly the greatest man alive too

 

If I could only work out who Hunky Evil wanted to marry....

I started collecting 2000AD in 1993 think it was, got everything for it because I loved the mag so much, and Dredd was a favourite character ... then had to make the decision (due to money limit) - drop one of these: Star Wars vs 2000AD/JD stuff. I chose to keep SW of course

Great that some of the best 2000AD artists have done SW stuff now
