Alright, I'm pleased to say that we had a better turnout this round with four players. I was surprised that no one got the bonus point (many correctly gave one type of high, but you had to give at least two):

Clip 01 - Clint Mansell; Requiem for a Dream; Lux Aeterna (Bonus answer: Drug High)
Clip 02 - Thomas Newman; Finding Nemo; The Little Clownfish from the Reef/Fronds Like These (the statement of the Nemo theme in the clip was identical in both tracks which is the reason for both tracks being accepted) (Bonus answer: Emotional High)
Clip 03 - Klaus Doldinger; The Neverending Story; Happy Flight (Bonus: Literally Flying High)

I was surprised to find out that the track "Happy Flight" has many different names depending on the album. After doing a bit of quick research, I found that the other submitted titles ("Bastian's Happy Flight" and "Flight with the Luckdragon") were also correct.

Congrats to Well_Of_Souls, this weeks winner! Here are the other successful players from this round:

    Well_Of_Souls - 5 points
    Miana Kenobi - 3 points
    andy1044 - 2 points
    snowspeeder_gunner - 2 points

Alright, after round three, Flying High, the points stand thus:

    Well_Of_Souls - 6 points
    Miana Kenobi - 3 points
    Scoot - 3 points
    snowspeeder_gunner - 3 points
    andy1044 - 2 points

The next round up is Dysfunctional Families. The first clip is about as easy as they come. It's a re-recording from a film, but I'm looking for the name of the original composer.

    Dysfunctional Families - Good Luck!

For the next round pick your favorite decade :D :

    1940's
    1950's
    1960's
    1970's
    1980's
    1990's
    2000's

Man, I could have kicked total ass in that last round. Why do I even come in this thread anymore? It just depresses me. :(

I think you missed the point, with regard to this particular family. They're about as functional and loving (in their own way) as you can get; it's everyone else that's dysfunctional.

I'm glad that 1980s is winning seeing as how it's my favorite decade for film music.

Anyway, answers will be delayed until Saturday since I'll be out of town tomorrow and Friday.

The answers to the Dysfunctional Families round:

Clip 01 - Vic Mizzy; The Addams Familily; Addams Familiy Theme
Clip 02 - Mychael Danna/Devotchka; Little Miss Sunshine; The Winner Is
Clip 03 - Alan Silvestri; The Parent Trap; Finale

Here are the other successful players from this round:

    Scoot - 4 points
    snowspeeder_gunner - 3 points
    Miana Kenobi - 2 points

After four rounds, here are the point totals:

    Scoot - 7 points
    snowspeeder_gunner - 6 points
    Well_Of_Souls - 6 points
    Miana Kenobi - 5 points
    andy1044 - 2 points

The next round is the first of the "random decade" rounds. In each of these rounds, I'll choose clips from three scores that have seemingly nothing in common except that they were composed in the same decade. To start off, we have The 1980s. One of the clips is from a TV movie, but is by a big name composer, so I have included it here.

    Random 1980s

    Options for the next round:

    B List Superheros
    Dance Grooves
    Music for Guitar and Orchestra
    Thievery

That last round I probably wouldn't have done so well. I would have gotten Addams Family but the others, doubtful.

I wonder if I guessed on the tv movie if I'd get it right without being able to hear it. lol

Sorry about the lack of updating. I've been beyond busy this past week.

Anyway, the scores remain the same after no entries last round. The answers for the 1980s round were:

Clip 01 - Basil Poledouris; Robocop; End Titles
Clip 02 - John Williams; Space Camp; Training Montage
Clip 03 - Jerry Goldsmith; Masada; Main Titles

Since there were only two votes for a theme this round, I decided to come up with something entirely new. This round's theme is Big, Bold, and Brassy. Hopefully, we'll have at least one entry this time around.

    Big, Bold, and Brassy

I'm actually surprised I forgot to put answers in! Robocop's recognizable, tho the Space Camp one I wouldn't have a clue on! Not exactly typical John Williams!

Sorry about this. With loads of school work/real work and only a few entries, I haven't kept up with this. If someone would like to take it over, feel free. At this point I don't think I can be counted on to update regularly.

But the answers to the last round Big, Bold, and Brassy are:

Clip 01 - Erich Wolfgang Korngold; The Sea Hawk; Main Title
Clip 02 - Edward Shearmur; Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow; Finding Frankie
Clip 03 - Patrick Doyle; Mary Shelly's Frankenstein; The Creation

Points for this quiz go to

    Well_Of_Souls - 2 points
    outrider462004 - 2 points

    Total points stand thus:

    Well_Of_Souls - 8 points
    Miana Kenobi - 3 points
    Scoot - 3 points
    snowspeeder_gunner - 3 points
    andy1044 - 2 points
    outrider462004 - 2 points

The General has given me permission to pick this game back up and host it. :)

I figured we'd just start a brand new game and hopefully get a new bunch to play as well. :D

For our first batch, I picked a pretty easy bunch just to get everyone back into the flow of things. :)

So for quiz #1 - Aerial Travel

The zip is here to download.

It will be 1 point for movie, one point for composer, and one point for song title.

    Have fun!

Well seeing as only one person played last round, here's hoping more people will join in!

Last week's theme was Aerial Travel. The answers were:

Clip 1 - "Journey to the Island" - Jurassic Park - John Williams
Clip 2 - "Christmas Eve Montage" - The Nightmare Before Christmas - Danny Elfman
Clip 3 - "Ride the Dragon" or "True Love's First Kiss" - Shrek - Harry Gregson-Williams

Congrats to Scoot for getting them all right!

    Point so far stand:

    Scoot - 9 points

Let's move on to the 2nd quiz, shall we?

This week's theme is Let There Be Drums.

Because these are a bit tougher, I'm going to score it 1 point for naming the movie and 1 point for composer. If you know the song title, great, but I'm not giving points for it. ;)

    Have fun!
