The Official Harry Potter Thread (For Movie News) New Trailer

Didn't see a thread for this, so here we go...

The first trailer for HP: PoA has been released online, here and provides us with a first look at the film.

The release date is June 4th, earlier than the others.

On the surface, here's what I noticed:

-Dumbledore has been replaced with a new actor, and this guy looks just like the old one.
- It looks like this one will be a bit closer to the book, and a bit darker than the others.

- Looks like Malfoy's got a new look.

-Looks like this may be better than the last one...

 

Azkaban

I saw a pic of the hand of a Dementor in a newspaper... creepy.

 

A summer release? Great idea! Oh, and puberty can be quite cruel at times.

 

I just hope this Movie going to be good, Because of a new dictor and stuff.

Draco Malfoy looks much older!

Gary Oldman looks weird as Sirius Black. He doesn't look... 'slick' enough.

 

Trailer I like it and as for Sirius I am going to wait until I watch him act before I comment...yes but he does look weird in that have you seen this wizard bit

 

Please... could someone change Askaban to Azkaban in the thread title?

Well, I hope that this movie would be great!!! I didn't like so much the last movie... And well, this is my favorite book... so I want to see the movie..


Edit: The trailer is awesome!!!! Also the music...

 

This one looks much better than the first two. I can't wait!

 

This was my favorite book of the HP series until book 5 came out. Order of the Phoenix is now my favorite but Prisoner is definately awesome. I cannot wait for this film!!

I liked Prisone of Azkaban least out of the books(That is to say i still liked it, just not as much as the others) it did seem weird seeing a different dumbledore, and it just feels weird seeing an older Harry

 

Order of Phoenix it is awesome... but I still prefer Prisoner of Azkaban.. Besides, in Prisoner... my favorite character appears and in Order.. the character... well.. he die!

So Prisoner of Azkaban is the best!! (To me..)

 

I have some vague hope that this movie will be better. I do like the casting of Gary Oldman as Sirius Black, mainly because he has not lost his touch in looking slightly crazed all the time.

I liked the little snippet we got of the Boggart-Snape as well. Heh.

And yes, Malfoy has grown and so has Neville! Man, I didn't even recognize Neville.

 

Hermonie (excuse the spelling if it is wrong) looks a lot older too. Then again thats what you get when working with kids.

Umm the kids are supposed to be a year older and when they filmed this 3rd film... they WERE a year older. We see 24 year olds playing 16 year olds all the time. What is wrong with a 17 year old playing a 15 year old?

I'd rather have the continuity of the same actors in all the films.

 

It's my favorite book in the series. I really hope they don't ruin it for me. I don't like the muggle clothes they're wearing, frankly. Not only would it be against dress code, when are they (especially Ron) supposed to go shopping for styling muggle clothes? Considering that everything Harry has is a hand-me-down, you'd think that he'd revel in wearing robes that were made specifically for him and to his measurements.



And since when does Hogwarts have a choir, and doubly, since when does Hogwarts plagiarize Macbeth?

 

Well, the copyright on Macbeth is somewhat non-existant.

And as I pointed out in YJCC, the books do reference historical, mythological, and literary wizards and witches, and Macbeth also falls into that category.

So there!

Besides, worse things have been done with Shakespeare's works than being used in a Harry Potter trailer.

 

Believe me, things have been copied a lot more than with the entire macbeth thing.
