Here it is, simple, low tech but still IMO the best. Jedi Knight, Dark Forces 2 is a fine example of teh First Person Shooters, Jedi Knight is a refreshing change from Quake 3 and Unreal MP shooters; the first in it's day to ever give a player the chance to use a lightsabre, as now legendary mercenary, Kyle Katarn. Jedi Knight has spawned a plethora of impressive mods, maps, add-ons, or total conversions, with the likes of the official SP and MP add on 'Mysteries of the Sith', incredibly popular map 'Morpheus', The Massassi Temple Map Packs, Grappling Mod 'Spork' and Movie based Saber Fighting Mod 'Saber Battle X'.

Now, here in the Jedi Council . Net Gaming League, we bring you the 'Jedi Knight Wing' where the JK players of the JC can commune and GAME ON!

Use this thread to organise Jedi Knight games between yourselves, talk about mods/maps and just chill .

THE JC.N GL JEDI KNIGHT LADDER : BE THE BEST!

Also the Jedi Knight Wing contains the 'Ladder'; the ladder is a big tournament, (will be held monthly when 16 players have signed up), used to determine who is the Best Jedi Knight Player on the JC.

The 4 l33t semi final winners must join forces in a two-on-two team game. With two of the semi winners (red team) against the two other semi winners (blue team). After this match, the winning team will go onto the final round, where they must go against each other in the final head to head meleè.

Ummmmmmm, WHY? We have Oucast, why not play it?

 

Because, as I said, Jedi Knight is still kick ass.

Plus, as JP says, 'Some of us don't have the pings for JO'.

Edit: I'll see if I can be bothered to make a half decent JO thread tomorrow, but I'm keepin' the ladder. I've gone in depth with this thing and I'm not having it screwed up just for JO's sake. Jedi Knight is still teh rox. Accept it.

 

Because a lot of us can't play MP due to the JO netcode. That's not to say there won't be JO tourneys in the future. There def. will be.

But this is SoCom's baby, so it's only fair the first ladder game is one he can play.

I'm hoping to get approval for VIP status on the boards for 3 days, and a custom icon.

 

I have a suggestion. Perhaps you should have a 15-20 minute deathmatch session to determine seedings? People that don't show up could be picked out of a hat by SoloC or just ranked in alphabetical order.

Also, would it be possible to name the maps and mods in advance? It would be nice if I knew what I was using and where I was going a few days in advance. And also to know if it's worth it to sign up.

Indeed, This net Pc is teh suxorz.

Regardless though, I finally got rid of that crappy AOL so at least I can PLAY JK now and not have a similar ping.

And oh yeah, Dan, It probably will end up with a big Deadmatch for the heats.
As for the maps, I'm looking through some pop choices for each situation, I'll probably tell you on Tomorrow knowing me.

Will all the heats be played on the same map? And will Force powers be pre-determined etc?

 

I'll give some variation for the different heats, but if one's simple, they're all gonna be simple, if one's complex, they're all complex.

I'm working on the heat levels/mods list. But I really don't think I'll be using spork.
Maybe in the Semi's.

Expect a list by the end of the night.

And if we don't get enough, or there's no show, I might as well throw 2 groups into Morpheus and the highest scorers go into the semi's.

One question though JP, what would you do with VIP-hood?

 

Use it as a leverage to a modship.

 

I'll play. And I like the idea of a free-for-all to determine seedings, although getting everyone to play at the same time might be tricky.

I am not reinstalling JK, and I am most certainly NOT playing Dan!

 

I say No force powers and No spork - I feel force powers take away any skill aspect, and I prefer playing without Spork, etc.

I also think we should play on the pre-installed maps, so everyone has a fair chance.

 

I'm looking into it so that everyone has a fair choice. And if I do go into extra maps from exterior sources, then I'll make sure only the simple and familiar ones are used.

I can't believe you don't know what Morpheus is!
