    I hadn't noticed before that that fighter has an R2 unit in the side.

    Yes. The R2 unit assists the Jedi Starfighter's takeoff by running Fred Flintstone style across the tarmac...

    Looks like those shots are from the EpI DVD.

    The story is here; http://www.starwars-union.de/episode2/

    And is translated by babelfish.altavista.com into this;

    On the episode there is I DVD well-known-proves a Making OF of the computer game Starfighter. Many did not grumble it about this feature, have anything on the DVD to look up etc.. But so it is not at all bad, because it gives us a view on the Jedifighter from AOTC. Planned a Sequel is to the play Starfighter, which turns then around the Jedifighter. We made for you four Screenshots from the Making OF, for two detail opinions of the Fighters and two really beautiful pictures with it:

    Here's another screenshot;

    Yep. That's where all those screencaps are taken from.

    Though I'd prefer an "x-wing" style game over an arcade style flight sim for Ep2 anyday :(

    Hmmmmmm.

    Wonder how easy it would be to convert an a-wing to a jedi starfighter (in XWA)?

    Has anyone made Ep1 Naboo fighters and Droid fighters for XWA?

    The DVD thing also said they would implement Force powers into the game. First time Force-powers and a "flight-sim" are teamed up. Seems cool.

    It's an acronym for X-Wing Alliance, a game by LUcasArts (which I own).

    You own Lucasarts, Sithy?

    Well, in that case, can you please port Rogue Leader to PC. And do a new Indy game...

    Thanks.

    Dear Sir/Madam/Sith Lord at Lucasarts,

    I would formally like to second the points made by one JP-30 in the Games Forum of TheForce.net's Jedi Council. Also please let's have flight sims rather than arcade fighter games, and I beg of you, PLEASE STOP CANCELLING PC GAMES! Remember where you came from...? ;)

    And please re-release IJATFOA to work with Win95+.:D

    Yours sincerely,

    Travis Signet

    ____________________________________

    As opposed to what I said 2 days ago in this actu, one will not have had to wait several months to read the advertisement of the first play drawn from Episode 2. It is the continuation of the space simulation (directed arcade) Starfighter come out at the beginning of the year on PS2. This new opus comes out on the same platform, but considering the first play comes out soon on PC (see this actu), one can expect to see unloading this continuation on PC a few months after output PS2 (envisaged in spring 2002, that is to say at the same time as film).

    This play has very to be a future success: - already, although being held during Episode 2, we will be entitled combining to an original history of the characters of the first play with elements of new film; one will see in particular the hacker of the first play, Nym, to join, ten years later, with Jedi Adi Gallia to untie an intrigue which will lead to the final battle of the Attack of the Clones; - it is the first play of simulation of spaceships where one can use capacities of Jedi while controlling his vessel; - a mode 2 players; - improved graphics...

    I includes/understands better why Starfighter comics are laid down... Personally, this play does not leave me indifferent, one would say well that LucasArts took lessons of its failures post-EP1: original stories, multijoueurs modes, ideas original... And to use the Force in its vessel, it is an idea of genius!! -) Here the first photographs, which are only concepts arts or images 3D:

    - superb returned of Jedi Starfighter;
    - a certain Admiral Toth, the malicious one of the history;
    - one of the secondary vessels of the play, which one should be able to control;
    - imposing a new destroyer;
    - a pretty concept art of Jedi Starfighter in action. I thus advise you to read the press kit attentively the end to end one:

    THE FORCE TAKES OFF IN STAR WARS. STARFIGHTER. II: JEDI STARFIGHTER. LUCASART, THE CONTINUATION OF FAMOUS PLAY PLAYSTATION 2 Use the Force on board Jedi Starfighter, the new hunter of Wars Star: Episode II, in the continuation of space a combat simulator largely greeted by criticism " Remember, Jedi can feel the Force in him. " - Obi-Wan Kenobi

    The series Star Wars Starfighter, space the combat simulator encensé by criticism, is back, this time with the capacities of the Force. Being based on the success met by its predecessor, Star Wars Starfighter II: Jedi Starfighter for PlayStation 2 puts in scene the new hunter Jedi, an elegant and very handy vessel, that one will be able to see in action in Star Wars: Episode II the Attack of the Clones. The play, whose output is envisaged in spring 2002, is also the first space combat simulator Star Wars to incorporate the capacities of the Force.

    Jedi Starfighter proposes 15 missions one or two players based on a new scenario and being held in environments with astonishing realism, with the image of those which one will see in the Attack of the Clones. In addition to the Jedi hunter, the players can control three other heavily armed and very handy vessels: Havoc, Zoomer and the Free Fall. The missions proceed on ground and in space, and the players can measure themselves with more than 40 enemy vessels, of which a machine impressing to discover in the next episode of Wars Star.

    " Jedi Starfighter gives for the first time to the players an outline of the richness of Wars Star: Episode II the Attack of the Clones, declares Simon Jeffery, pr

    This looks like a good game (seeing as LucasArts seem uninterested in making any more spaceflight sims, guess we're going to have to make the best of what we've got).

    I've played the first game briefly, but I'm sure I'll get stuck in when the SE is released for PC. Then I'll take another look at SF2.

    To any Games Workshop fans (I was a few years ago), does that #4 image (the third one Lord Mauly Mall posted) above remind anyone of the Eldar Falcon Grav-Tank, what with those two front prong-bits?

    Ooops.

    Looks like I forgot to convert one paragraph above!

    Also I think "criticism" above should be "critical acclaim" or something. I doubt the opening line in a LEC press release would read

    Jedi Starfighter, the new hunter of Wars Star: Episode II, in the continuation of space a combat simulator largely greeted by criticism

    LOL

    Here's the missing paragraph - describing the force powers!

    One of the characteristics of Jedi Starfighter is the presence of the Jedi hunter, furtive and fast, straight come out of the Attack of the Clones. The hunter Jedi, vessel of predilection of Jedi, does not have an equivalent in the universe of Wars Star. By incarnant Jedi pilots like Adi Gallia, the players can use several Jedi capacities at various stages of the play. Thus, the flashes of Force destroy the feeding systems of the enemy vessels and paralyse the pilots. The field of Force creates an energy barrier which deviates the laser beams. The waves of Force produce a powerful discharge of energy which is propagated in several directions. Lastly, another Jedi capacity exacerbates the reflexes and the sensitivity of the Jedi pilot by slowing down the environment while the Jedi vessel preserves its handiness and its capacity to be drawn.

    So, that SS_Destroyer? Any chance it's an Episode2 precursor to Imp Star Destroyers from the Attack of the Clones movie, or is it more likely to be a game-only creation?

    EDIT: "Jedi pilot by slowing down the environment while the Jedi vessel preserves its handiness and its capacity to be drawn."... can anyone say "Matrix"?
