A thousand years before Luke Skywalker, a generation before Darth Bane, in a galaxy far, far away...

The Republic is in crisis, torn by plague and conflict. The Sith roam unchecked, vying with one another to dominate the galaxy. But one lone Jedi, Kerra Holt, is determined to take down the Dark Lords -- one act of sabotage at a time. Her enemies are strange and many: Lord Daiman, who imagines himself the creator of the universe; Lord Odion, who intends to be its destroyer; the curious siblings Quillan and Dromika; the enigmatic Arkadia. So many warring Sith weaving a patchwork of brutality -- with only Kerra Holt to defend the innocents caught underfoot.

Sensing a sinister pattern in the chaos, Kerra embarks on a journey that will take her to many worlds and into fierce battles against even fiercer enemies. With one against so many, her only chance of success lies with forging alliances among those who serve her enemies -- including a mysterious Sith spy and a clever mercenary general. But will they be her adversaries or her salvation?

Hell yes! This might be the first Star Wars novel I've bought in... years, actually. The rest were either hardcovers and too expensive or not really all that great. I wish my local bookstores would put them out early, I had hoped they'd be a bit more lax with a non-hardcover book, but guess not. Must remember to camp out at the cafe next week to read it. Now just have to be a bit careful to avoid spoilers.

I'm really excited for this novel. I preordered it on Amazon a couple days ago...hopefully it'll come soon. I don't remember the last time I got a SW book on the publication date.

Got a copy waiting for me at Chapters. I'm so looking forward not not dropping more than a twenty for a book I'm actually looking forward to.

I seriously can't wait for this- as people around here have probably already noticed, I tend to endlessly gush the instant the words "Knight Errant" are mentioned, so the next four days can't pass fast enough as far as I'm concerned. Seriously, after Aflame #4, I just can't wait for the novel- not only was the issue great, but the excerpt from the novel was amazing as well.

I know I keep saying this, but I seriously love Knight Errant so far. It just feels more... I don't know, "Star Wars"-y than almost anything we've gotten in ages. When I read Knight Errant, I feel like I'm reading a Bantam-era novel or something, something that really captured the spirit of the OT while simultaneously doing its own thing. It's hard to explain, but suffice to say I already knowt his novel is going to ROCK! [face_dancing]

My Chapters has 40 copies of it, but I haven't got around to getting it yet. I'm reading George R.R. Martin's A Song of Ice and Fire series right now and I'm addicted to it. I don't know if you guys hae checked that one out but it's definitely worth a look. HBO is doing a series on it starting in April.

Definitely excited about this though, I think I'll be taking this to Cuba in a month with me while I sit on the beach etc.

Don't worry, when you finish ASOIAF, you'll have time to read the entire Star Wars line before A Dance With Dragons comes out. :p

I didn't realize this was a paperback. Guess it'll be the first SW book purchase for me in a long time too.

I'm seriously considering it too, Hydro. My last purchase was the severely regrettable Pod.

My bookstore got this early, so I'm almost done reading it. And whatever your expectations are, I don't think you'll be disappointed. It's one of my new favorite novels. The heroes are great. And the villains? They're some of the most imaginative, interesting, over-the-top, and all-around awesome villains we've gotten in years. Please, give us more JJM novels. [face_praying]

Picked it up yesterday and I'm three chapters deep. Definitely enjoying it so far and I'm looking forward to picking up the first TPB when it's finally released.

Seems like every bookstore is selling it before the street date. :p I wouldn't be surprised if Amazon shipped their pre-sold copies today.

My copy's in the post but I'm not reading as fast as I used to.

Still, it'll be fun to participate in one of these threads again, it's been a while!

I picked this up today and will get into it shortly. I must say, though, the comic excerpt came out really well. I really like the Lost Tribe of the Sith ebooks so I suspect this will be a really good and fun read.

Is the comic excerpt on a different type of paper than the rest of the novel? If so, does it make flipping through the book awkward?

I can't stand books with extras in them that make it hard to read.

It is a different type of paper, similar to the type of paper in actual comics, if not the same material. But no, it doesn't make the book awkward at all, since the comic pages are the same size as the other pages and aren't rigid or anything. You can easily flip through them and barely notice the difference.

Amazon preorders made through the links on my site hadn't gone out as of midnight Friday; I'll check the report again in the morning and see, but I take it that they started going out today.

A few novel-related announcements. I have another batch of reader questions and my responses on my site tonight; there will be one last batch before Tuesday. I'm not yet taking questions about the events in the novel itself, but will open a thread for those at some point. Heaven knows when I'll get to the production notes; I imagine they'll be a work in progress for a while. If you haven't seen it yet, I'm also blogging for the next week or so along with Joe Schreiber and Troy Denning over at the Borders site. And a number of signings have been announced, also back at my site -- all in Wisconsin, right now, but I'm beginning to build out my con schedule.

Lastly -- there is one last pre-release bonus piece on the way, in the vein of "Influx" and the Atlas Supplement. I should have details on where to find that on Monday or Tuesday. I appreciate all your interest in this release, guys; we've tried to come up with some special stuff for it! [face_peace]

I stayed up waaaaaay too late last night reading this because I couldn't put it down, and it's been a while since I've been able to say that about a SW novel. Got 100 pages to go and hoping to finish tonight. [face_hypnotized]

    Looking forward to it! :D

Ok so what's the order that I should approach Knight Errant? Influx, comics, novel. And anything else I might be missing.

I'm reasonably certain JJM has set it up so it doesn't matter how you come to read the book.
